If it's improperly built. That's all.
Otherwise it should run like a charm.

What makes an SLR any better than a c93 or a 10/63?
>>
>>27901881
Fit, finish, quality, design options. You won't see an under, triangle, or polymer sidefolder on a c93 or wasr. Nor will a c93 or wasr come in 5.56 or 5.45.

They have made some abominations, no doubt, but you have to give credit where it is due. The C39V2 is fucking awesome, and the RAS47 is a few tweeks away from being a pretty respectable all-American offering. Oh, and a straight WASR is a fucking great option.

How do you figure numbnuts?
>a straight WASR is a fucking great option.
Only because it took the Cugr factories like 10 years to unfuck their commerical line of rifles and then century to unfuck their desporterizing process. They're great compared to American made trash though.

>>
>>27905440
Just from an engineering standpoint it's a big weakpoint that can get full of shit and make it hard to clean. Don't you think if the Soviets or anyone else could have saved on weight and materials a bit they'd do that? I can guarantee that they tried variations of that and it failed. Also it just looks ugly as fuck for no god damned reason.
>>
>>27904404
Npaps and opaps are ok but don't use standard akm furniture so the aftermarket is shit. Also a lot of people don't like the stock on them due to the high comb. Difference between the two is that the opap has an rpk reciever while Npaps have regular receivers. Oh and they have problems with bolt preening but that's really not a big issue
>>

yes and no. they used to be complete and absolute shit, but i hear they've kinda been on the upswing.
>>
>>27906316
>yes and no. they used to be complete and absolute shit, but i hear they've kinda been on the upswing.
Stop spreading that bullshit. The only people who have said they're no longer shit are literally paid review shills and the company itself. Have you even handled a new production one in person? I have. Not with a rented dick.
>>
>>27905440
It's cast. Cast parts with large holes = broken shit.
>>
>>27905477
It actually is more expensive to do this because of the additional punch and die complexity.

Lightening any reciprocating part is good from a mechanical standpoint.

Also as a proud C39 (not v2 though) owner I will say it is much nicer than my WASR, infinitely better fit and finish

>muh fit and finish

Did you miss the part where the carrier is cast? There is no punch to make that hole.

The bulgarian CHF barrel is better than the romanian one or the American-made non CHF C93. Not that those are horrible, but the bulgarian barrels are really, really good.
>>
>>27901214
crooked trunnions
>>
>>27906529
What makes a Bulgarian CHF barrel better? US made AK barrels have been getting 1.5 MOA or better.
>>
>>27905273
Sights usually dont keep a zero when mounted on a dust cover
Also
>Someone wanted an AK12 So bad
>>
>>27906567
Non chrome lined is objectively better than chromed, going from 3 to 1.5 MOA is wasted on most Kalashnikov rifles because shit ammo and vast numbers of shit shooters. If you need a match grade rifle and actually can tell the difference between 1.5 and 3 MOA, you don't grab an AK.

Bulgarian chromed barrels are objectively better than Romanian, because they are more accurate (shooting and machining, from what I've heard,) and you didn't have to lose the protection of chrome lining to get there.

They still might not be as accurate as American button rifled barrels but they shoot rings around the Romanians and won't corrode out as fast as the Yanks.

The difference isn't enough to justify ripping a serviceable barrel out of a rifle, in my opinion, but the Bulgarian barrels might be good to keep around, for whenever it comes time to replace one.
>>
>>27906863
>That should read, "Non chrome lined is objectively WORSE than chromed."

>That should read, "Non chrome lined is objectively WORSE than chromed."
Nitrocarberizing is better than chrome lined for corrosion resistance, longevity, and accuracy.

BACK TO SQUARE ONE. Are the DDI ak's any good?

Is it even possible to get ak74s any more?
>>
>>27907038
DDI's AKs are good.
I'd recommend the DIY one from AGS and get some Balkan War furniture from Apex.

>Note the DDI AK is a Hungarian pattern and the furniture will require some fitting.

As for the 74's, DDI id building some kits for Classic to be released soonish.
Don't know what the price point will be, but I'm sure it'll be less than an Arsenal.

AK side rails are complete garbage... I don't know why they can't make a good top rail design that doesn't cost more than the rifle itself. The entire AK design is a sloppy old mess and really needs to die.
>>
>>27908640
But... but...i even looks really bad without a muzzle device. I mean i'm ok with the rails as long as they have a purpose but this is just plain stupidity and laziness.

Hey /k/, I have a question for you: Is the AK47 still being produced to this day in its old design?
>>
>>27908579
There is no valmet in either the post you responded to or in your pic.
>>
>>27909227
No. The closest you'll see made new are semi-auto repros, or Yugo/Serb AK's.
>>
>>27909227
Thanks! Repro = A different company makes the exact same rifle?
>>
>>27905351
Lightening.
It's weight reduction, not electric discharge.
>>
>>27909392
>>27909353
Damn, quoted wrong.
>>
>>27909392
>>27909403
No, not the exact same, as every maker I'm aware of that makes 47 (rather than AKM or newer) repros is in the US, which means that they are semi-auto only, , and thus the receiver is slightly different, there is no trip lever, and the FCG is likely a shitty tapco set (Though with ALG on the market, that might change. Would be less accurate historically, but much nicer to use).
Also, the barrel will likely be pressed and pinned in, rather than threaded.
Those are the differences you'll find from a true 1:1 copy.
I guess I should have said "facsimile" rather than clone.
>>
>>27905197
I like your rails

You will never be investigated for 922r compliance unless you have already run afoul of the law.
