For steel armore yes...angling is better. For ceramics...it is worse. Ceramic cracks...and if it angles the shell passes through crack. ceramics will never bounce a shell. The more ceramic tiles damaged...the worse a second hit is. There's a reason modern non soviet tanks are boxy.
