This is a one-day shoot out in a spot we scouted out previously in Panoche Hills.
Here are the particulars:
DATE: November 7th, 2015
TIME: 7:30 AM
ADDRESS: 46378 W Panoche Rd, Firebaugh, in the Subway parking lot.
I don't expect everyone to get up at the asscrack of dawn to get there at 7, but if you're in the area or want to help set up, it'd be great.
DIRECTIONS TO THE SPOT: Drive down W Panoche Rd, past the Subway where we're meeting. Continue down until the road ends. (It turns into private property, there are buildings around.) Turn left onto Panoche Rd proper. Continue driving for approx. two minutes until you see a circular parking lot on the right side overlooking the dry riverbed and a large, flat basin. Pic will be provided.
BULLSHIT: We will be needing tables, chairs, tarps, and food. Two people are confirmed for bringing grills, so charcoal, burgers, hot dogs, and accessories would be welcome. I have a burn permit.
Tannerite, lead, and clays are okay, and although my clay launcher -still- hasn't come in, we should have somebody else arriving with one, trap shooting is still on the menu.
Bring tunes, targets, and trash bags.

There are multiple gas stations you can get ice at. Theres also a fosters freeze we can probably steal ice from.
I was going to bring one or maybe even two coolers and get ice at one of the 24hr walmarts I have to drive past. I'm planning on just bringing water, ice, and other drinks though. I don't plan on brining food, but I will bring a few small bags of charcoal.
I'm also bringing one or two 5 gal bottles of tap water for washing hands and shit. I don't have any dispenser attachments or caps though, so I might buy a cheap water container with a spigot or something and use the 5 gal bottles to refill it. Unless someone has something we can use.

Boca Reservoir area near truckee. Has a designated shooting area for public use, and everywhere around it is forest and mountains perfect for shooting film.
Stanislaus forest, there are a few places close to the edge of the forest that the parks people wont mind you shooting guns in.
Kings canyon, be very careful in this area, extreme wilderness, and isolated. Best place to do whatever the fuck you want without anyone bothering you, but also the most dangerous. Have at least some bush craft, and navigation knowledge when going here.

You should be able to, but I havnt shot in that forest area in a while, so go to the ranger station and ask them where to go.
I usually just shoot at the designated area since its set up like a range, and then park pretty much anywhere in the forest and set up camp.
If you are closer to truckee area, there are a couple of places near lake tahoe, and one a bit north towards susanville. I havnt been to these places in a while though so cant give you details on where they are. But like I said, go to ranger station and ask, the old lady who works at the one in truckee is pretty friendly.

I've found during range trips that anything more than like 2:1 (experienced vs new) usually turns into the whole trip becoming an impromptu instructional course for the new shooters. Which isn't bad but I don't know if everybody would be OK with that.

I've only shot there two times since it was suggested as a meetup spot, neither time have I seen anybody patrolling them either.
Turns out I only have 1 clip of light ball nugget food. The rest are in crates in storage (which I rather leave alone), but I do have some training rounds, so I'll bring a few clips of that. I won't be able to feed my PU much personally, but I'll still bring my PU and people can just feed it whatever ammo they bring. I don't think the scope is zeroed though, I haven't shot it in 2 years now maybe.

Alright guys, here's the deal.
Either I ditch the hotel room and return Saturday, but that means the money spent on it is wasted.
OR
I have a ride there around 5 am who can't stay, but I can swap with someone else driving up north and RTB on Sunday. That way we can have a group sleep indoors with sleeping bags, we can stay in Panoche longer and drive back to our respective directions well-rested.
So if anyone from up North is willing to stay and extra night, we have a room for 3-4 Kommandos to stay in. If you are the baddest dude, please speak up now. Otherwise the room is wasted.

Originally GF and I were gonna stay there and take off along the PCH, taking the slow way back.
Now she can't go due to a sudden medical problem (thankfully it's just a damaged nerve, not a blood clot). That plan is now fucked, but the room is still paid for. I'd hand it off to someone else to sleep in, but I have to be there to check out in the morning which is mutually exclusive from getting a ride back unless someone who lives up north stays as well.
It's complicated, but if we can pull it off it means people got a place to crash and we won't be driving for hours just to see each other for 30 minutes before turning around.
If need be, I can try to coordinate this with people in person at the meet but if I'm staying I gotta check in by 3.
