A single Tu-95 appears over the arctic circle. The bomber flies over the North Pole and it is coming down toward the United states, through Canada. All other Russian activity appears normal. The Bear will not respond to any attempts to communicate with it. The President calls Putin and asks what is going on. Putin only responds that he is not aware of any such bomber. How long will US/Canada wait to shoot it down?

Plane disappears off the radar,
RussiaToday claims Ukraine is responsible, Kiev denies the allegations
>>27787218
The moment it crosses into Canadian airspace and refuses to communicate in any form it gets a sidewinder up the ass. Same thing if it enters Alaskan airspace and refuses to talk.

that
let Putin get mad
he should be happy we (probably) wouldn't launch ze missiles
>>27787312
Yeah if we were in the height of the cold war we would prob launch missiles for pulling some shit like that.
This has probably been asked before and it's probably common knowledge in /k/ but just what IS IT with Bears invading everyone's airspace? What's Russia's game?
>>27787351
in reality both sides were so close to pressing the button, like silomen were turning their keys and shit
>>27787218
Let's make an amendment: Every time a fighter plane goes up and tries to wave them off, the Tu-95 crew will just smile and wave back. No other responses.

Piss off NATO, waste our gas, see how far they can venture in and check response times
>>27787383
They're probing air defenses and collecting intelligence. Also, they get to troll NATO.
>>27787304
You think Justin "Jah Bless and Praise Allah" Trudeau would authorize such an action?
>>27787281
Fuck off John McCain.
>>27787502
They're probably just on vacation
Those are menacing props.

We put an airliner into the ground in Pennsylvania... If that aircraft penetrates American airspace it's dead.
>>27787218
Realistically? The instant it got over the north pole the U.S. would send up a group of planes to escort it away.
If it kept continuing? The instant it crossed over US airspace it'd get... "removed from the area." This includes canada, which is one of the us's greatest trade allies.
>>27787383
They do not invade in airspace, they fly near borders
