I found this concept for a new LeMat revolver. I thought it was sexy as hell. The LeMat is in my opinion the most interesting of the percussion revolvers. You had 9 chambers in the cylinder and a 20 gauge underbarrel shotgun.
I'm not sure what this design would be chambered in.
I like it.
Post concept guns and the like! Concept ships, tanks, etc.
Here's the breach. Sexy break opens... mmmmm.
I know /k/ thinks submersible aircraft carriers are dumb but I still think it's awesome. And with VTOL still in its infancy who knows what the future holds.
>>27784161
That is fucking ugly.
I wish the artist drew a legit schematic for this.
I love schematics, deck layouts, etc.
>>27784188
I know what the future holds.
Hint: it's not submersible aircraft carriers.
Here's a concept I like. /k/ absolutely hates it. I think the flight deck would be slightly faster and more efficient than the flight decks of larger supercarriers. It would take a lot of training and drills to get it that way, though.
It's a conversion plan for civilian commerce ships. We've turned civvy ships into combat vessels before. I like the idea that we can beat our plowshares back into swords. I'm weird like that. I heard y'all say it would be cheaper to just build a new ship but I disagree. With modular construction and a well designed conversion kit, anything is possible.
>>27784189
To each their own.
>>27784161
Just get a block of wood and stick a trigger and firing mechanism in it already, Jesus that thing looks ugly.

People like you need to quit raining on others parades. A bunch of assholes rained on Caesar's parade and refused his triumph, and that's why the Roman Republic fell.
I'm an asshole myself and I lack the introspection to see my glaringly obvious flaws, but damn, dude... chill out and enjoy seeing others creations.
This is my favorite concept EVER.
We could have had this beast patrolling from Saturn to Earth 50 years ago.
It's weaponry capability was INSANE. It would be the most powerful vehicle ever built and we could have had it 50 years ago! There's a duplicate image, it's posted right here- >>27784265

I love this concept. Mass produced 1911s that are so cheap you don't feel bad about scratching them up or neglecting them.
I love conceptual knives like this, things that aren't really massed produced... works of art.
It's a damn shame everything is illegal.
This is why we can't have nice things!!

>>27784381
I like it. Alot
It was probably shit, but the idea to use a NATO caliber in a PDW-sized weapon just got me a little hard.
Here's an airsoft gun.
It's called the Goblin Deuce, IIRC.
I think it's a sexy idea.... a sawed off shotty that's basically a pistol.
Too bad the government will never let me have any nice things ;_; I guess they are lucky that they have people like me that they can steal whatever they want from and tell everyone that it's "confiscation" so it's cool.
The world needs more 1911s in .50AE.
It used to be a thing, now it's a dead idea.
I like the idea of high capacity handguns.
No, I'm not planning on shooting up a school... I just grew up watching the history channel and believe soldiers need to have a decent sidearm.
I really love the Kel Tec PMR 30 as a concept that can be improved. .22 WMR isn't a gun I could see troops taking to war and most ammo for it doesn't have a powder formula meant for short barrels so it shoots fireballs...
But a pistol with a 30 round magazine flush with the grip? Yessss.
I also don't think quad stack mags are used as much as they should be. Putting a steel piece between the stack making it so it's like two double stack mags improves reliability and makes it feed reliably.
Sidearms are pretty much dress accessories but I believe pistols still have their necessary place as a backup.
This is a M1-L1 triple pulse rifles used by the Chinese military in the movie "Deep Rising". It has a thousand round helical magazine.
I think a .22 bullet with a "minie ball style" hollow base filled with some kind of combustible plastic explosive that needed electronic ignition would work.. it wouldn't need cartridges and its a water cooled minigun with three barrels so it could send out ridiculous amounts of high speed dakka without overheating.
I don't think you could fit a full thousand rounds in there but they would basically be 3 times shorter and less wide than a cartridge bullet.
You would probably be able to get a few hundred rounds in there easily, though.
Here's another idea I like. Sandbag furniture for military bases. That way if they suddenly need a lot of sandbags, they already have them! And that way they have a place to sit instead of having to stand all the time.
Also I live in a flood zone and national guard bases NEED to have tons of these things in reserve.
It would definitely help.
Would HESCO bastions make good levees?

Personally I love the idea of .30 caliber bullpups. I used to be a history channel fanatic and back then it was "ALL HITLER! ALL THE TIME!!" And .30 caliber was the standard rifle caliber back then.
I love the FNAR too.
As far as I'm concerned with PDWs, the P90 is the golden standard.
I understand the trend towards smaller calibers with faster velocities, but will we be shooting .177s at 5000FPS one day? There's gotta be some kind of curve to it.
Painted Nerf gun, but damn, it's cool.

This is probably the best concept I've ever seen.
I've seriously considered spamming every government agencies email I could find because of this picture.
It could double the capacity of pretty much every weapon we have.
The A-10 could have TWICE as much BRRRRT.

It's a very small price to pay to double the ammo capacity of every American soldier and vehicle that uses bottlenecked cartridges.

>>27785184
Yea, it would take a little longer to seal though so you'd probably need to add an extra grain or two in the powder charge to get indistinguishable performance from bottleneck rounds.
The biggest issue would be troubleshooting the feeding and extraction to make it as reliable as bottleneck cartridges. They would probably have to shoot off 50,000 rounds and experiment on a few rifles before they got it right.
Even so, it's a very small price to pay to DOUBLE the ammo carrying capacity of every soldier without adding any weight.

As I recall the main issues with this were pressure and heat dissipation to the point where you would have to design a gun around the round to be worth it. I love bullpup .50BMGs. The GM6 Lynx has a reciprocating barrel that's pure sex. There's another .50BMG bullpup called "Leader" or whatever... but they both only have 10 round mags. I can't have that. Barret is still the beast in the .50BMG market but they cannot into aesthetic bullpup design!
>>27785495
I think that is a load of bullshit.
But whatever, I'm not in charge.
>>27785595
Not penetration. It would still be firing a standard caliber bullet with pretty standard weight. I was thinking of using some type of electronically ignited plastic explosive... something much more powerful than powder.
Accuracy... It would have standard barrel length so burst fire would have decent accuracy... yes anything shooting full auto will have poor accuracy but think of the fire suppression that one soldier could provide! Carrying around a little water cooled minigun with a few thousand rounds on his person...
The military has been promising us the future soldier for decades but they just aren't delivering and until they do I'm going to keep being the armchair dictator I am and let my imagination enjoy itself.
If American superiority has peaked and we're on the way down, FUCK YOU if you won't let me enjoy my stupid childish fantasies.
>>27785603
>>27785595

Space Activity Suits can provide slim, mechanical compression. Some high-flex areas like the crotch and hands may need air pressure because the compression fabric won't hold properly while allowing movement. Skin is naturally airtight and doesn't actually need air. Helmets will still be a bit clunky though.

Look at this. It's the KelTec SU-16C and it's lightweight and compact as fuck. It's like an AR and AK had a baby and the baby had the best of both worlds.
You could stick a pump action grenade launcher under it, or just mount an underbarrel shotgun with 12 gauge grenades, stick a super fancy scope on it, and it would be an OICW.
If you wanted smart ammo you could make smart grenades and do that.
BOOM. Compact, easy, does the same shit as the OICW in the other pic I posted.

>>27787260

Top breaks have a bad reputation because the last time they were popular handguns were made with wrought iron and people shooting hot ammunition from reproductions might have something to do with it.
>>27787246
>SU-16C and it's lightweight and compact as fuck.
It also breaks and is held together with screws. It would be nice for backpacking gun but not for a military use gun. Something made of aluminum and carbon fiber would be a better lightweight gun.
I do think that a pump action OICW would be nice. Bigass shotguns already exist, like the KS-23 in 23mm (pretty close to the 20mm and 25mm that the mil was working with). Pump-forward shotguns are pretty compact too, if you want it on the front like an underslung. Something like the GM-94 or the Idaho Breaching Shotgun (pic related)

>>27787453
I don't think the SU-16 design is all that great. Placing the spring around the piston is neat and saves some space but the reliability is reported to be not great, there's no dustcover and the charging handle is on the right, and the way the fore-end grips and rails attach is mediocre as well. It was really just designed to be light and cheap.
The military could take their regular ARs and replace the buffer tube and quadrail with carbon fiber parts. It would be very light weight and not very expensive. I really like the barrel nut design of the AR, it make is easy for manufactures to fit their rails and tubes. It doesn't work so well with piston guns though, because pistols are usually quite large and would make a threaded barrel nut absolutely huge. Works better on the AR with its tiny gas tube that can pass through a hole in the barrel nut.
>>27785458
I love that idea. I'm stealing it. Tell Alex I only steal from the best. But only tell him after he's done making awesome designs... I don't want my theft to upset him so much that he stops making such sexy guns.

>>27787694
My understanding is that it's action is based off the AK which is why there's no dust cover.
If the moving parts are based off the AK, no amount of dust should be an issue.
But then again, .223 isn't as powerful as whatever the Russians used and that recoil force might help eject debris... so maybe it needs hotter loads?

Not really. Pic related. The bolt carrier isn't anything in particular. The piston is kind of AK-ish. The way the gas tube and recoil spring attach and disassemble is quite novel, I really like Kelgren's ingenuity there. The bolt is very AR-15-ish and takes AR-15 extractors. Some dudes on a Kel-Tec forum reported that polishing the bottom of the bolt carrier increases reliability, so I assume there's a fair amount of friction in there, and surfaces that dirt could muck up. Replacing the extractor with a stock AR-15 extractor also reportedly helps reliability, probably just cheap manufacturing there.
5.56 is just about even with 5.45. AKs are really overgassed compared to ARs and that does help ejection. So does the huge extractor that AKs have. I wouldn't do that with an SU-16 though, the breaking issue with the SU-16 is the part of the upper receiver breaking off.

America's greatest defenses from invasion are the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
The way the government and military works is jackasses like me can't just walk in to the Pentagon and find out if we have defense systems in place to screen for modern stealth submarines. I don't think they would let me in on whatever secret tech they have, if any.
I'm sure they are so busy with their valuable taxpayer funded jobs that they wouldn't be able to answer my questions, you know? It's got to be a busy job keeping America safe from bankrupt third world nations.
Jesus Christ I hope we calm our shit down before the rest of the world makes 9/11 look like a scraped knee... seriously.
We went to war with Japan about sneaking in an attack. We're kinda at war with Mexico and south America for sneaking in drugs. Our prison system is basically an internment camp.
NOBODY respects our laws not even Americans. I hate on the government from time to time but if they don't have a last ditch game play to keep America relevant and righteous I'd be disappointed in them just like I'd be disappointed if they don't still have a plan to invade Canada.

You at least have to give a passing grade for effort.
Most those designs need space magic to work and I'm very fond of simplicity but.... damn those look cool.
>>27787941
looks like a gun designed by someone who's never fired a gun before
>>27788827
He has to have SOME mechanical knowledge so I give him the benefit of the doubt. Did you see the torsion bars on his concept fighting vehicle?

what's the deal with the trigger guard? and why does the trigger look like it belongs on a 1911? Why does it have engravings? they offer no tactical advantage whatsoever.
I do like the concept, but the design is hideous.
>>27788997
>no tactical advantage whatsoever
Reduced weight
Increased grip surface
>>27789014
why would you be gripping the frame?
>>27789025
You never know. Might drop it. Might have to wrestle it away from someone. Many reasons. Shit happens in combat.
>>27788333
>>The SU-16C is the kind of rifle airmen should have in their survival kits. Not some POS .22 rimfire.
I can dig it
>>27784237
That's a terrible idea.
I mean for what purpose? You want to cats to be parallel so that you can launch multiple aircraft into the wind at once, so that's a shitty idea.
Having two non-parallel landing runways isn't particularly useful either. It would be a good idea on a land-bound airport because you could land/take off closer to windward, but that's irrelevant on a carrier because you can physically *move* it into the wind.
IS GOOD IDEA IVAN
CAN OF SHOOT ENEMY AND ENEMY NOT SHOOT YOU

Quick and dirty photoshop
>>27787589
WHAT?
A 12 gauge projectile can hold as much explosives as a 40mms grenade.
We have the technology to make those smart grenades to detonate overhead like those 20mm fancy ammos used by other OICWs.
The recoil is light enough to be handed by a collapsible stock.
School children have CALCULATORS with more processing power than the Apollo 11 crafts!
What about my post was offensive to you?
>>27788997
OP here.
It's more of an art project than an actual gun concept from what I can tell.
It's kinda like a D-guard bowie.. it's an obvious homage to our Civil War heritage. The D-guard serves no real purpose, but Civil War bowie knives had them sometimes and that's the only time bowies had them...
Kinda like the LeMat revolver was pretty much only used by Americans during the Civil War, and it's the only time American troops had a pistol with an underbarrel shotgun.
It's just subtle charm and respecting history.
>>27789097
>>27789261
OP here.
Yea, it needs more cats.
I would have done something like this, though.
It would be able to launch 8 fighters faster than any carrier on the planet, and even more if it has VTOLS.
I would also include much more missiles and some DAKKA, but thats just personal preference I didnt want to draw in paint.
I am so unskilled with computers its actually kinda sad.
BAMP

Not that guy, but you're asking for the FRAG-12, an already anemic explosive load that nobody (not even police forces or joke countries) considers worthwhile, to have half its projectiles insides replaced with electronics. The outcome would be firework-tier weak to the point of useless.
>>27790680
Our 40mms grenades have MUCH less explosives than you think.
You could fit the same amount inside a 12 gauge shell.
With miniaturization tech I'm sure you could make effective electronics that are tiny as fuck.
>>27786245
>Panther Moderns
Don't think so.
>>27785338
It looks like it'd work if you fixed the hinging so its the proper top cover plate with rails around it fixed to the frame. And whatever the box sight thing is, that needs work.
Pretty easy to salvage machine shotgun.
Also anyone else notice he forgot the barrel hole in the wall for the chamber?
Love this one from pavellkid.deviantart.com/
>>27793644
Seems like the action wouldn't get full range of motion...
>>27784161
Fancy shooter... But those engravings give you no tactical advantage whatsoever.
>>27788980
>Available in .32/.38/.380
>not in .357 mag
Fuck you for getting my hopes up.
>>27788997
>Why does it have engravings? they offer no tactical advantage whatsoever.
Because it looks nice, you mongoloid. Everything doesn't have to be tactical. Every gun doesn't just come in "tactical black" and "tactical khaki".

Ski-jumps. If it doesn't have ski-jumps, it's shit.
>>27795377
I thought /k/ hates ski jumps. I kinda dislike them for aesthetic reasons. Except on >>27784188, the ski jump works real nice there.
>>27795707
/k/ isn't a hivemind, but hating something that has literally no downsides for aesthetic sense alone is retarded.
Some of these concepts should be made. I mean, they look pretty functional.
>>27797011
Any in particular?
>>27797491
With a few modifications, these.

>>27797767
Yup, but I like then.

This
>>27795341
The tactical advantage thing is a fucking meme you dip
>>27785358
That one would be pretty easy to build with a pps 43 parts kit
>>27799367
I was going to meme on you, but I realized, holy shit, I remember that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrbVZCF2s3M
Colt single action army, yeah, you'd get a LOT of money for an authentic engraved one.
Anyways watch the first minute and the line is there. I can't believe I forgot it. MGS3 was a really fun game. Haven't played MGSV though, but from what some /k/ommandos have been saying is that the guns are 'good enough' but still a lot of bullshit. But then again everything is bullshit in MGS, that's the appeal.
>>27784197
That is fucking rad, but I'd suspect it'll be a complete nightmare to build, maintain, operate, and let alone, finance.
>>27785999
>>27785978
>Robot wearing clothes
I really really really like the idea.
Kinda makes sense to some extent actually
>>27787889
this actually can work, too bad they didn't make it happen
>>27787889
Why the fuck not?
>>27788017
hey that's the scoot gun from tf2!
>>27785018
I didn't know there was a NERF Vector.
>>27801520
>scoot
Regardless, Scout seems to have modified his to fire all four barrels at once, instead of in sequence. Kid is obsessed with shotguns.
>>27785234
God, I fucking hate those super-hyper-over designed pieces of shit. It takes all the effort and skill out of shooting. I can see everyone using an Olympic-Grade pistol, but not some .22 monstrosity like those rifles. Give everyone a super-tight tolerance HK or something. >>27785284
>>27802119

Guess what bub, that pistol you see there is olympic-grade.
fags like you are the worst.

In that case, fuck those guys for not taking it into the near future.
