How did the military change you as a person?
>>
Knee problems. That's about it.
>>

Made me rich for a 24 year old, so once I hit civie life again I've been able to take opportunities I wouldn't have had the cash to do otherwise.
No more than a semester of college which was a waste of my time, and now a business owner doing two jobs I love.
>>
My physical endurance went through the roof, I got actual muscles on my body and I'm probably at a semi-professional tier of masturbation now
>>
>>27782450
I'm a fucking neat freak now.
I'm well-off compared to my grad school friends.
I actually exercise now.
Probably a little better at shooting than I previously was, too.

Hello NSA, how about you leave our vets alone, stop gathering weak sauce "proof" to strip them of thier civil rights.
Thanks bye

Made me hate people more than I already do.
Maybe I'm just more of a tight ass now.

I still masturbate in honeybuckets
>>
>>27782561
Its too bad everyone can't be a neat freak

Its nice to walk into my room and be able to set an important paper or my cell phone or laptop down on literally any surface with no fear of some unseen grease spot or nasty shit or fucking crumbs

Nice to be able to pull any dish out of the cupboard ready for use (wont even find the occasional small particle of what the fuck is this like water at a restaurant)

Nice to have all my utensils organized in a way that makes sense

Nice to have my spices organized in a way that makes sense

Nice to have my guns clean, organized and ready to use at any given moment

then again perhaps I am an autistic

But seriously, if you are a messy person be it with clothes, dishes, you name it, you are a giant faggot slob

The sad realisation that every job has the same upsides and downsides. You're also going to have cool times, boring times, and be required to do pants on head retarded things because your bosses are forced to meet demands that are pants on head retarded and everyone is too afraid to say it is pants on head retarded because then they aren't forwarding change or aren't team players.

Also, that just doing your job is usually enough to be celebrated because most people are incapable of doing that.

And that if you can do your job in spite of pant on head retardedness you'll be celebrated.

Unfortunately, if you leanr how to create and enforce pants on head retarded rules you'll become a leader.

I got a lot of endurance I promptly lost again.

I can now sleep in all kinds of situations and positions when I couldn't before.

I now need an extra loud alarm clock or I won't wake up.

I eat and walk slightly faster than before.

are the jokes about jerking off all of the time based in truth?
>>

Yes, my barracks where two little bedrooms with a conman area. I would do self bondage in my walk in closet. It was my own little sex dungeon.

>3 week exercice in Wainwright
>Camp Sergeant Major is giving a brief to the camp
>"AND FINALLY, I AM TIRED OF SEEING JIZZ IN THE PORTAPOTTY URINALS. GET CONTROL OF YOURSELVES."

I was impressed that no one laughed. But that Sergeant Major was legitimately pissed off.

going to graduate in 2018 as a pharmacist but contemplating becoming an officer and doing 20yrs just because of how bad the market is getting.
Wanted to since HS but got sucked into the college meme by family
Yes or no?
>>
The money is actually good?

I live in Canada and I'm trying to get a job up north mining for $115,000 a year but I would rather die from a bullet in my head then suffocation or getting crushed. Both jobs will be hard on my mind and body, just for different reasons.

http://www.forces.gc.ca/en/caf-community-pay/officer-class-a-b-service-rates.page

Class A is reserve work, day to day pay once in awhile

Class B is contract work, for at least 2 weeks continuous.

Class C is operational pay.

Essentially, it is a little more complicated than that.
>>
>>27783572
Shit, that was officer pay.

>>27783433
I was enlisted, but I would say try the job market first, then go officer as a fall back. The officer experience is far better than being an enlisted plebian, but experiences may vary depending on your branch and job. The military is no safe haven from retardation and politics, but people are at least held to a little bit of a standard. Just know that even as an officer, if you're new you're as much of a boot as the fresh privates. Lean on your experienced NCOs and learn how to deliver as a leader. All else is secondary.
>>
>>27783046
>Welfare Queen
>>
>>27783575
That does look complicated, it seems like it wouldn't pay much at first

I guess that's all the more reason to respect the people willing to do it
>>
>>27783578
That is what I'm thinking as well.
I'd be 24 when I graduate and have a contact to get in but If I do get laid off I'd like to do my 20yrs while I'm still young.
I haven't heard of many officers entering at 30 and I assume that could hinder a career.
>>
>>27783606
It really isn't

A & B are the same level, different benefits that aren't listed.

It says daily rate 6 hours or more because you can get paid in two increments: 6-24 hours of service (pay as listed) or less than 6 hours service (half of what is listed, a half day's pay)

Each rank has four pay raises, one for each year you are at that rank. Motivation for you to keep training and advancing.

Corporal A is Corporal, Corporal B is Master Corporal, since it is an appointment not a rank.

Specialist pay is general only for reg force guys, when you get certain trade qualifications, like for example, my brother in the navy got a "underwater scuba ship repair course" (cannot remember the real name), which entitled him to one level of specialist pay.

Bad knees, bad back, tinnitus like a motherfucker, high blood pressure, a whole shitload of other joints and bones that ache when it's going to rain.

But I also collected an assload of marketable skills.

And 1 tattoo.

This mufucka speaks the truth. I was a reservist back in the late 80/early 90's (yeah, old as fuck, get over it), and we got $32/64 back then. Also no direct deposit - pay sgt came out with 2 corporals with C3 SMG and a box full of cash.

Dundurn. Good times. 1989.

>>27783303
Well, army guys are usually 18-21 years old boys...so....your stuck thinking about sex and valuing sex above everything else until your 50 or have kids...and actually have to raise them.

I no longer worship military specifications, methods, or training as being the best. It's kind of amazing how slowly the US army catches on to viable technologies and gets rid of shitty ones.

>be me

It made me realize how full of shit the commercials are. It made me realize dying for someones pocket book isn't worth 30,000 a year.

Defending Freedom? Bullshit. Should we begin to list laws and cases in which freedoms are constantly being violated?

The service is bullshit and people are being shamed.

This. I hate people I beat my dick mercilessly I drink just about every night and I smoke now. The majority of the jokes I make are extremely offensive to anyone outside my platoon because they are all about rape, suicide, and pedophilia. Overall I've become a worse person.
>>
>>27788907
The fact that you don't care about people opnion and say whatever you want, makes you a better person.

I had some scary dream today.
