I want a backpack gun. Since I can't find a fucking kek tek sub2000 in 9mm what other option do I have? My budget is $650 total. Should I look into a AR pistol? But those are gonna cost more than my budget. How about an AK pistol? How accurate are those? I have a ccw permit so if I get a pistol I'll have less issues about concealing it in a backpack while hiking hopefully. Should I just get a full size g17 and call it a day then one day I'll come across a sub2k in 9mm to match my g17?

I don't want a 10/22, already have one. It's not takedown but I can get a collapsing stock to make it more concealable I guess.
>>
Up your budget a bit and look at the CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1

Its a great pistol for the price and you can add the sig brace later for totally not shoulding it for stability.
>>
>>27774686
That's a good idea anon. It's kinda bulky looking but not bad. How much should I expect to pay for one and does it come with more than 1 mag?
>>
Nobody has their backpack gun? No one here goes /out/? Post pics and suggestions plz.
>>
>>27774662
Guns aren't very effective stuffed in a backpack.
get a pistol, or carry a long gun properly, if you choose to do that, your options open up in your price range
>glawks
>M&Ps
>ruger gp100
>ruger AR556
>other sub $600 ARs
>SKSs
>AKs
>some lever guns (maybe, havent price cheked them latley)
>mossberg 500/590/590a1
>mossberg MVPs, patriot rifles
the shorter rifles like the patriot, and lever guns, as well as the mossberg shotguns will fir a shotgun scabbard that can be attached to a backpack.

Fun?
Hunting small game?
Hunting large game?
Defense? If so, against what?

There is no better backpacking gun than the AR-7
I took one with my squadmate once when we backpacked in the Newfoundland.

I've never actually had a gun you could clip to your belt.

Solid 9/10
Wish it had a better stock though.

I use a 10/22 takedown but since u dont want that....

Get a winchester 97 takedown or model 12 takedown or a stevens 520 takedown

Get a pistol carbine conversion kit since it sounds like u want something you can shoulder

Get a 16in marlin 1895. Weighs like 5lbs, kicks like a bitch but porting it and adding a limbsaver will help, can kill EVERYTHING.

Sub 2000. No really, used ones can be found often on the CGN EE, especially since many are upgrading to the gen 2. If you want a gen 2, many of the bigger sponsoring retailers are starting to get them in more often.

>source: it's where I got mine
>>

Yeah basically this. I did it a little bit cheaper by buying from different places when they had great sales and shit. But desu, after having shot it a couple times, I have every intention to get the paper work rolling on sbrin' that bitch

Get a Mare's Leg and put a full-length stock on it. Boyd's sells full length stocks. Rossi makes a takedown Ranch Hand, if you need to pack it.
>>
>>27774662
Why not an SU-16 over a Sub2000? It's 5 lbs & 26" folded so it's not quite backpack small. However it has more power and range, can take any STANAG magazine, store extra mags in the stock, deploys a mildly useful bipod and features an optics rail.

Inb4 glocknade rifle
>>
I would say get the Glock 17.

You can't find a sub2000 in .40 either?

I've gotten guns in .40 because I couldn't find them in 9mm. I have no regrets

Thank you fellas.
What if I order this: http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-10-5-5-56-nato-1-7-nitride-pistol-kit.html
All I would need after that is a stripped lower receiver? Does it have to be a pistol only lower receiver in any way? I have no idea how AR15 pistols work or are categorized.
>>
>>27774662
If you just want something for fun/small game then the Little Badger is an option. I believe it comes in .22lr, .22wmr and .17hmr.
It folds down sorta well but if you take unscrew the pivot bolt the barrel and stock are very compact.

Hickok45 did a video on it a while back. It's only $150 and the barrel is threaded if you've got a can.

>>

it needs to be stripped and not sold as a rilfe
usually gunshops will dros it as a other but there are some states like california that will fuck you on this
keep in mind you need to be over 21 to buy a stripped receiver

I have gen one sub 2k in both 9mm and 40. Both take glock clips (you mad bro?). Some other the aftermarket stuff makes a big difference in the comfort of the guns. Cheek pad sleeve is a must. I personally like the 40 better, but doesn't have as much capacity of course. The what round is better argument can go all night, but in all honesty it comes down to what I could find cheep. Also the sights suck for the gen 1s.

Captured screw in the grip to mount the receiver. Indexed barrel with screw on collar. Charging handle is stores flush but pulls out for side charge. 1 Flush magazine fits in the receiver while stowed +2 extra magazine slots.

Word, I've been toying with getting a 9mm carbine. I'd prefer a marlin camp 9 but since they're so fucking scarce anymore I'll probably end up with one of the big 3 (sub2k, hipoint, Beretta)
>>
>>27775308
I have this gun.
I like the fact that I can put in my backpack whenever I go biking in the woods. They are quite ammo picky but fine guns none the less.

>>>27775308
Except for the massive quality control issues, the sear can fail and turn it into a run away full auto, the ridiculously fucking thick pistol grips, and the shitty irons on a design that cannot allow a scope.

>have short barrel things but 12ga so louder than god
>want compact firearm for a long road trip
>will be sleeping in the back of my van probably in wal-mart parking lots
>need something short
>don't want something stupid loud

Thinking of 9mm with 147gr in a Kel Tec, I know it'll be loud in a car, but I'll take anything I can get in terms of "less loud" since the 12ga short barrel would probably powerfuck both my eardrums hard and I'm not operator enough to operate with perforated eardrums. If I have something with a longer barrel that fires subsonics, it shouldn't be as loud but still be pretty effective.
>>
>>27789518
If you handload, try lighter loads of slower powders. Slower powders need more pipe to reach a given speed, so you can avoid opening the action too early and getting a rupture/case head separation.
Assuming you mean a s2k. If not, then the longest barrel you can find pushing 147's.
>>
>>27789599
Just wanted some recommendations. Considering S2k because Glock mags are nice, and I'd probably be using factory Hornady 147gr TAP.

That or go with my .22 rifle and 30 round mags of CCI 40gr Velocitors.
>>
>>27774662
Pistol caliber carbines aren't as versatile as handguns. You can always keep a handgun in the car at the ready or carry it.

I'd recommend the FN handguns over a glock.
>>
>>27787098
>massive quality control issues
It's been consistent for a while now
>the sear can fail and turn it into a run away full auto
I have literally never heard of this in even the most shitty Charter Arms AR-7s unless there was a problem with reassembly.
>the ridiculously fucking thick pistol grips
It's kind of the point to allow the rifle to float and it's fine for the application of a survival rifle.
