Does anyone have knowledge of secret clearance background checks? Will they know about all the fucked up porn and racist shit i post on 4chan?
>>
>>25652845
Are you talking about US SECRET-level clearances, or clearances in general?

They usually don't get into the "fucked up porn and 4chan" neighborhood unless you are going for TOP SECRET with SSBI
>>
Not OP but say I go into the military and make it through to special forces, do they look into it then? Or is it more if you're going into like FBI CIA or SS
>>
>>25652845
They've already seen it but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. They just put it in your file to use against you if you complain.
>>
>>25652901
For anything SOF, you will almost certainly need TOP SECRET just to even "make the cut".

Typically you will not have to talk about fucked up porn or 4chan unless you take a polygraph and a psychological evaluation. For porn, they really don't care unless you are into beastiality, CP, etc. For 4chan, they don't really care unless it relates to fucked up porn.
>>
>>25652884
SSBI whats that?
>>
You should most certainly tell them, if you're going for a TOP SECRET clearance. They don't care if you're in to fucke
d up shit, it won't hurt you. What will hurt you is stuff that you keep concealed and could be used to blackmail you.

>Debt
>Affairs
>CP
>Illegal things on the internet
>>
>>25652952

im not allowed to tell you, clearnaces and all
>>
>>25652940
....shit.

Is rule 34 and /ss/ defined as fucked up porn?
>>
>>25652963
I guarantee you they have seen worse than you
>>
I got secret and I spent a lot of time on 4chan unless you did some really fucked up things you should be fine OP

>inb4 feds take my clearance
>>
>>25652977
Yay, thats good news.
>>

>>25652963
I don't know what /ss/ is, but Rule 34 is pretty benign. They are looking for shit that is illegal
>>
They didn't ask about it for my secret but when I got my top secret interview they had about 10-15 pages worth of 4chan comments they asked me to explain.

There's a point where nothing really matters, altering the timeline and memory creation/erasing.

That's just me being schizophrenic, though.

Jesus did say what's done in the dark comes to the light and what's secret will be revealed.

So.... the cameras are always on.

I've talked to myself enough, I know that if you talk to yourself long enough you'll start getting feedback from strange places.

I really don't understand what's going on anymore.
>>
>>25653004
And now I'm boned again.

Can you sum it all up as 'I'm a lying internet asshole?'
>>
>>25653025
If you're going for TOP SECRET, you may have to have an interesting conversation with a psychologist, but I don't think it will affect your eligibility to handle classified info. I'm not really sure if that's blackmail-able.
>>
>>25653070
Cool.

I mean whose never wanted to fuck a MILF?

>In a university setting, Applicant was a polysubstance experimenter and abuser. He contributed to, or purchased outright, some of the substances used. His one-time experimentation with Psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine, and liquid codeine, as well as his three-time experimentation with LSD and Adderall all ceased before he graduated from college in May 2013. The Psilocybin mushroom incident occurred in October 2009. The liquid codeine incident and the cocaine incident both occurred in October 2010. The last experimentation with LSD and use of Adderall both ceased in May 2013. In addition, Applicants more frequent use of marijuana ceased in October 2012. His motivation was generally to fit in with his peers and because of curiosity. His use of Adderall was to enhance his focus and to better enable him to study for tests and work on school projects. Applicants use of drugs never resulted in a positive drug test or incidents involving the police or judicial authorities, and he never sought or received treatment for his drug use. The sole sources for the information developed regarding Applicants drug involvement are his self-reported responses to various inquiries. Applicants actions under the circumstances confronting him no longer cast doubt on his current reliability, trustworthiness, or good judgment. Clearance is granted. CASE NO: 14-00919.h1

Holy shit, how did he get away with it?
>>
Be honest about relevant shit, it's best in the long run and unless you show signs of things they can blackmail with (take bribes, fallback to drugs, etc.), it'll be all good.

They really don't care once you've gotten in and enlisted. MEPS and its welfare contractors are really the only assholes when it comes to that kind of stuff.

The clearance investigators/etc. is seperated from that (in a way).

It just makes your initial paperwork process longer, but it should go through.

>Applicant obtained some classified documents from another government agency (AGA) and transferred them to the acting Facility Security Officer (FSO) at his new employer using all the proper protocols. Several days later, after checking with the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), the FSO determined that Applicant did not possess a valid DOD security clearance. The FSO reported the "security incident" to the Defense Security Service (DSS) which, in turn, notified AGA. Applicant's employer determined that his actions violated unspecified security policies and procedures. Applicant actually did have a valid security clearance, but it had not been transferred into JPAS. Applicant's actions in acquiring foreign citizenship and a foreign passport were directed by AGA. Personal Conduct concerns are mitigated. His actions under the circumstances do not cast doubt on his current reliability, trustworthiness, or good judgment. Clearance is granted.

Most employers don't want to foot the bill for the background checks, and instead lets the government do it (and then just poaches the person from the government). It can cost several thousand dollars to do an extensive background check on someone.

Yup. 20+ years ago my grandma was a manager at a retail store and one of her employees was trying for some SOF position in the Navy and she had a man come to the store and gave her a two hour interview about him. If he was a good worker, if he followed directions well, if he was rude, etc.

And that was over 20 years ago. Probably closer to 30 by now.

It's absolutely no reason to tell them. If your friends aren't faggots, no one will ever tell them.

Most of these people are civilian contractors. They're on a different set of criteria. Admitting to a military recruiter that you smoked weed will get you turned away from every single branch right now.

Civilian here, only attained Secret and not TS, but the SF 86 (which is the main form that you fill out) doesn't give a fuck about what you do on 4chan. They don't care about shitposting,t hey only care about patterns of behavior that could render you a security risk (repeated drug/alcohol abuse, financial troubles, etc). Just BE TRUTHFUL on the application and if they ask you about anything and you should be fine. Good luck!

The military is different from computer contractors. Fucking Edward Snowden had a Top Secret clearance and look at him.

Right now, they can boot you for just about anything. There's no demand for soldiers and they can't find enough to do with the troops they already have.

If you must tell them, tell them for the security clearance section, not the introductory questionnaire.

Case in point, a lot of the people in >>25653011 have police records regarding DUIs and weed, and their clearance was granted. Right now, any arrest or conviction of just about any kind will get you denied.

Shit nigger, I don't know. My dad was DOD for years and he was a massive pothead in the 60s, and he doesn't even know if they asked his friends.

I have to assume that the people doing the security clearances are weighed according to the nature of their job along the same guidelines. But if these people are getting their clearances even with debt and criminal and drug histories as long as they promise to not break the rules anymore, smoking a joint in college isn't going to keep you out even today.
>>
>>25653515
Let's say you've got the clearance to get your hands on a document, and I want that document to help my terrorist organisation.

I do some digging around, and find out you used to look at cp. I befrend you in what seems like a normal way, build rapport, gain your trust. Over the course of a few months, I start bringing up porn in our conversations - start off showing you some light jailbait, keep building it up and up until we're regularly exchanging the really nasty cp shit.

Once I have your total trust, I get you in to my "secret club", and give you a once in a lifetime oppertunity to actually have a go on a loli.

Then I show up at your house the next day with a few dozen pictures of you having sex with a 6 year old, threatening to put them up in the playground of your kids school, in the building where your wife works, and outside every member of your families house, unless you bring me the document I want.

Most people already have a strike or two against them. A youth assault offense, minor medical issues, weight trouble, something. Adding marijuana use to the list can be enough for them to deny you for character problems. True, it's not a stone wall to enlistment, but it's still a strike against you. If you can avoid it and if you can just tell the friends you were with that mums' the word, it's better for you.

OP I just got my SECRET clearance.

Anything that hasn't gone on record at a courthouse is outside of their concern.

For example: They asked about my late payments on rent, all convictions (even traffic), and all employment reprimands. However, I am a drug addict who stopped using drugs 1.5yrs previous to the interview and it just never came up. So with that being said, you can draw your own conclusion about internet use. They'll have no idea because you will not tell them.
But this is important: DO NOT LIE ON THE FUCKHUGE APPLICATION. DO NOT LIE ABOUT ANYTHING. THEY DO INVESTIGATE ALL FACTS THEN INTERVIEW YOU TO CONFIRM FACTS. They will not ask you about internet use. As long as you're not a foreign spy you'll be okay. :)

>>25657221
You have to weigh it for yourself. Are you more likely to get a waiver or convince the military that you don't smoke weed. Personally, I've only smoked with a couple of people in my life, and they're people I can trust to not crack. I'm also already pushing my recruiter to his limits to get me past holdups. Marijuana would be the straw that broke the camel's back at this point.

It's never good to recommend that people lie, especially when the stakes can be their career. But for some, it's the best option.

So they just didn't ask about drug use?

Lie like a dog.

If you were ever in treatment then do not lie about that. But if you were never in treatment, lie like a fucking dead dog

On your NACLC (99% of everyone) they only care about fiance, drugs, alcohol, treatment or loans for the above and links to terrorism.

However lying about these things are bad. This is why the recruiter asks you even if YOU POSSIBLY did it. Because they will add a comment to wavier it.

They asked about treatment for drug use

I didn't lie about anything and the way the drug questions are worded, depending on how I look at it, I actually didn't even have to stretch the truth. You'll see what I mean when you log into the site and get to that part of the application.

In the interview, they reconfirmed each application question. So it all carried over.
By the way, I was in treatment for alcoholism and I put that on the application. Since they could confirm the info, it was fine with them. A friend of mine lied about the same situation and nearly got rejected.

>just be honest anon
>they won't care

if I had a secret agency, anyone who lacked the good sense to lie about shit like that would be a PR risk, and probably not someone with the brains for the job

>Applicant has two debts a charged-off home equity line of credit account for $108,744 and a cable company collection account for $216. These debts have been ongoing for several years, and Applicant was unable to provide documentation that these debts were being addressed or resolved. Clearance is denied. CASE NO: 14-00631.h1

You're fucked
>>
>>25657275
Is this your recruiter telling you you have to lie or are you going off your own judgement
>>
Clearances mostly are to with your history, if you can't account for pretty much every day since you left school, you won't get it. They talk to your friends and family, and even may follow you for a day for the higher level ones.

They just want to make sure you're not a spy basically.

>home equity line of credit
>$108,744
Do you know what that is? He bought a house and couldn't pay for it. He didn't forget to pay his cable bill for a place he no longer lived at. One debt is for a couple hundo, one debt is for over 100k. Are you so fucking retarded that you can't recognize the difference? Or is your foreign money worth so little that you don't realize $100k US is kind of a big deal?
