OP, you're a total faggot for posting this. That's not even real, and the real thing has already been photographed.

Also, can you believe that pic related has STANAG-4 armament and resistance to 14.5mm rounds? Absolutely incredible, they apparently are building the armour under a license.
>>
Hahaha, only edge lord fedoras would think that tank is anything but sheet metal TRASH. Can't wait to see the libturds cry when a single A-10 wipes out 10 or 100 of them
>>

why are they hiding the turret

Whoops, I meant it's got level 4 STANAG protection.

The Russians had a head start with development since if I remember correctly, they purchased several different European wheeled APCs and IFVs (including the 105mm freccia light tank, which they gave back) for testing.
The Boomerang will also have all round protection against 14.5mm rounds, frontal protection from 30mm rounds, and amphibious capability to top it off, meaning it will serve in the naval troops.
Same thing with the Typhoon, and the Kurgan.

Checkout this sexy ass.

Because everyone was hyped for the cool autocannon and minigun secondary weapons from OP's concept art, and they seem to have cut those from the final design. When the turret is revealed, it will inevitably be disappointing.

Also, it's not officially being unveiled to the public until the May Day parade.

Believing that 'concept art' is just like taking a deviant art page as the real thing. The Armata was explicitly being noted to be a cheaper alternative to the T-95.

And yeah, the tarp is being removed for the parade, obviously.

Most of the components are arriving in pieces, THe T-14 turret lacks parts like NERA and stuff, they're trying to cover it to hide parts that should be covered so as to hide where they put what. An example of this is the T-15 side skirts, except you cant really hide side skirts.

Who knows. I'm dying to see it without covers - IMHO it's hard to make a mock turret able to pass for real on close inspection.
As for other new vehicles, I know that some airborne brigades right now are being equipped with BMD-4 (picrelated) and BTR-MD for tests and training. Kurganets-25 ICVs are ready and waiting for army testing as well.
Personally, I have serious doubts that they will manage to build 2,300 T-14s by 2020 as Russian MoD is planning, but I'm pretty sure they wil have some hudred of those.
>>
>>25640071
It will probably follow as similar production schedule as T-90. They'll have 5 variants by the time they finish their first run that won't be done until 2030.
>>
Am I the only one that thinks it looks really plain? Like too basic and square? Doesn't really look cutting edge at all for a new tank.
>>
>>25640071
>>25640112
MoD was holding back on buying T-90s for the last couple of years because they were waiting for T-14.

Instead of ordering new T-90s, more money was put to outfitting existing T-90s and T-72s with extra kits, i.e. T-90MS and T-72B3.

>>25640131
Aesthetics don't win wars. Russian armor also doesn't have to look pretty to sell. It's a brand.
>>
>>25640155

>>
>>25640155
>MoD was holding back on buying T-90s for the last couple of years because they were waiting for T-14.
It may have been a stop gap but it doesn't excuse the fact that they only have about 900 in service of all variants since introduced in the 90's.
>i.e. T-90MS and T-72B3.
T-90MS is export only and T-72B3 is a complete overhall, not just a kit.
>>
>>25640187
>only have about 900 in service of all variants since introduced in the 90's

>T-90MS is export only
Right, but there was a similar modification for the T-90A. T-90AS?

>T-72B3 is a complete overhall, not just a kit
Yep.

T-14 is designed to do combat with tanks. Time will tell if its effective, but you're free to make authoritative claims ahead of schedule.

>>

Because Ukraine Internet Defence Force comes from russian /pol/ to shitpost here.
>>
The T-14 is probably outdated before it was finished, and even if it is a halfway decent tank, Russia will build a few hundred before they run out of money to build more.

At that point they will whore it out on the international market in order to keep the line open, and it will have to face competition from tanks outside Russia. That's when we will know if it's any good.

>Right, but there was a similar modification for the T-90A. T-90AS?
Nope. For now, there is only T-90MS (S means export modification in Russian nomenclature) for export purposes. MoD refused to fund T-90MA production as they are really waiting for T-14s.
>Certainly no excuse, yes. One is lead to believe they intend to catch up.
Well, maybe they actually have an excuse, as 1990s were really hard for Russian military, no money no R&Ds no fancy new tanks. So when they at last managed to roll out T-90A with welded turret, thermal optics, new communications and engine, it was already rather outdated. Its modernization potential was also running out. As I see, T-90MS is the maximum you can squeeze out of this design and chasis. So why commision tanks you won't be able to upgrade? And now to mention some innate problems of the tanks of Soviet origin.
>>
>>25640458
A have noticed that from the very beginning of /k in every Russia-related thread there would be at least one post stating that if Russians do not have some gizmo right now in mass production they will never have it because a) No money b) Russia will collapse in a week c) Slavshit sucks d) HurrDurr. They have no experience or design/scientific school in building carriers, they have little school in any sector, be it bombers or tanks, to be honest, so its to no surprise they do not use they top-gear on daily basis.
Russia on the other hand has on of the most old, trusted and doable military scientific school in the world, especially when it comes to ground forces.
So, why exactly we, anons, must be concerned about T14's mass-production issues?
I suppose that Russia is the most probable country to actually field break-through and/or sophisticated vehicles fir ground forces, especially when consider ground forces focus of Russia's military and abandonment of respective part of military by West and gap between Russia and the West and other world like India and China.

What do you mean by "new"? If you mean some major breakthroughs for everyone's awe, then I don't know of any. But if "new" is "something comparable with modern European or American models and developed not in Soviet Era", then we have something to see.
If we speak of military production, Russians feel themselves quite competent in radars and SAMs ('Nebo' multifrequency radars, S400s, Pantsir-S are notable the example that I remember witout googling), explosive reactive armor, rocketry (they finally managed to make ICBM Bulava flying, kek. also, they now have some Iskander systems able to launce both SRBMs and cruise missiles), submarines (Borei-class), metallurgy and ceramic composites (reports on Russians fitting their APCs with advanced ceramic plating are googleable). They also introduced a number of brand-new frigates and guard-boats, but I don't know the details. Ah, and some minor shit like MRAPs, armored cars, machineguns, sniper rifles
Oh, and in civil engineering they are ready to sell their new nuclear reactors (VVER-1200) to whoever gonna pay.
As far as I can see their major shortcomings are electronics and plastics, which are lacking. Although, is rumors are true, they have finally managed to start mass production of their own CPU "Elbrus" which comes in dual, quad and octo core variants, the latter being produced in Taiwan, while the former are made in Russia.

>no R&Ds no fancy new tanks
Two tank projects were in the works before work began on the Armata chassis + turret: Black Eagle (Object 640) and Object 195 a.k.a. T-95. The former was a tech demonstrator, made in 1997 and intended to show "what could have been". Object 195 was being overseen by one guy, but then the command got reshuffled in 2010 and they scrapped the T-95 so that the new tank could be attributed entirely to this new guy.

It's unknown just how much was borrowed from Object 195, but the most likely answer is "a fucking lot".

>MoD refused to fund T-90MA production as they are really waiting for T-14s.
I heard something similar, but here's this chart I found on 2ch a while ago. (Correction: couldn't find the file, googled it and found a downsized version.) All of these models were supposedly produced in SOME quantity.

BMD4 is in service. BMPT was an export project; AN-94 and AK-12 was just a contestant for a small arms competition similar to how the we've had a bunch but in the end we still use M4s. BTR-90 was a proposal however the MoD decided BTR 82s (which have been mass produced) were just as good, but to help out the company they bought a few. Shitting on a country that literally imploded financially is like talking shit about a baseball batter who broke his arm.

>Su-35
One of the newest aircrafts of it's class, recently being put in service.
>BMPT
Which is arguebly ever supposed for internal use.
>MiG-35
With many systems don't working, made by MiG, who is busy with MiG-31 and have underfunding issues.
Also keep in mind, that MiG-29/35 and Su-27/35 have much more little differences compared to F-16/F-15, its more like middle fighter/heavy fighter, when american counterpart, most widely used on the globe is more like light multitask fighter/heavy fighter.
MiG-29 is good fighter for his age, but where F-16 perform multiple tasks with air cover from F-15, MiG-29 and Su-27 function very close to each-other, and latter is much more capable for the task.
So, basically one can't tell for sure, whether russian MoD declined MiG-35 from service yet to be finished, or because it is falling of the doctrine or sort of that.
>BTR-90
90's, duh. APCs was the least to worry about, no wonder that expensive replacement's for BTR-80 production stopped and also because more cheap and less cool versions where and is present - BTR-80A/82/82A/82AM, three of four sports the same 2F42 30mm cannon and only lacking in protection, ATGM and AGS.
>BMD-4
Currently being put in service in VDV.
>AN-94
Unusual design with eternal reliability problems (mud and sand in moving parts, fastened worn-off of moving parts and junctions between moving parts of assault rifle and unmoving parts of assault rifle) and pricy for close to AK-74 characteristics.
>AK-12
Undergoing test military service to determine whether it will be the next main assault rifle of russian ground forces or it will be AEK.
Sort of this.

Russia can't even build the SU-35 right now due to critical components that used to come from Ukraine. Probably the same with the PAK-FA.
>>
>>25642293
It's more accurate to say that over 12 years passed without anything happening. Only in the last 5 years (supposedly, only the last 3) did the MoD sponsor Armata development. If they managed it that swiftly, even if we take into account results from the slow-burning/stalling development of T-95, that gives reason for hope.

What's going on here?

Are they legitimately restoring old tanks at a professional depot? That would be kick ass.

It looks pretty underwhelming tbh. The turret shape is looking very conventional and much larger than I thought for an unmanned turret.

I actually think the Kurganets-25 and Bumerang are more interesting projects, especially the one with a 57 mm auto cannon.

It's going to make the Americans tank look like it is leaning against the door how cheap it is.

Yes they are. Actually, this is an overhaul for WW2 vehicle before the Victory day parade. On May 9th they are going to show them good ol' tanks rolling down the streets in a number of cities, not only in Moscow. In Khabarovsk officials even promise to restore and display some variant of WW1 Renault FT-17, lol.
