Make a quick throw away account with a fake email if you want. It'll tell you to upload something first (You can delete it afterwards) so just find a random pdf to use, upload it and then it will let you download.

You can use Cutepdf to make PDF files out of random webpages, which can be quicker than finding one.

I hate seeing this keep getting posted, it's both unnecessary because it's easy as piss and incorrect as it skips a pretty important step in making them not turn out like dogshit

You're supposed to put zipties inside the paracord where the inner cordage goes for rigidity, that way the magpuls stand up on their own. Without this, they are pretty fucking useless as magpuls.

It has what I need, I've been trying to work with the idea of a slavshit equivalent, chamber a Mosin in 7.62 Tokarev and make it run on TT-33 mags.
>>
>>25489117
At that point you won't need a new barrel. Just make a chamber insert that accomidates the Tok cartridge. I've used Tok rounds in an insert in my nuggets before with good results.
>>
>>25489139
I had no idea those existed. Now all I need is a Mosin, and to file suppressor paperwork
>>
>>25489139
I don't have the SAAMI specs for 7.62 Tok handy, but I'm fairly certain it wouldn't do anything horrific. The insert could probably even be made out of pretty shit steel too, unless you intend to fire steel cased.

Does anyone have any interest in Bill Holmes / Luty stuff? I've got pretty much everything.

I think you could just use this. Make it permenant and then modify the bolt to grip the Tok cartridge instead of the insert. Lastly just insert the bottom part of a tok receiver in the mag well. Hell you could even leave the grips on since the fire control unit comes out of the gun. It would take a lot of fitting but its not impossible.

The rim of the insert will have to go to get correct headspacing with the modified extractor. Modifying the extractor shouldn't be too hard, and recycling the Tokarev frame to act as the magwell is genius. I might actually be able to go through with this.

I don't know, I haven't been on /k/ in about 7 months, and he was pretty long-dead before that. The guy was active within the last year and a half or two years here, and had some great fucking plans.

I think I spoke to him once or twice, too. Nice enough.

Anyway he had a "Give to /k/ if I die or am incarcerated" package that was released at some point, so he's probably dead. Oh, everybody speculated / maybe confirmed that it was suicide. Cool dude, but a little faggy in that sense.
>>

Something happened to his sister in some godforsaken Asian country and he became suicidal. As far as I know he went to Southeast Asia to revenge and/or kill himself and we haven't heard from him since. This was in late July I think.

Anyone have the entire collection of his plans? I'm missing most of them. There should be around ten or so, right?

The 'machinist's drawings' floating around are only rough estimates. You can visually see the results aren't 1:1 with original in the top pic.

More usefully, you'd want to get rid of the rotating magazine well (Use STEN MKIII layout), select fire set up and heavily milled parts. A simple, full auto only version as per below would fulfill all requirements.

For the anon wanting a slavshit equivalent, I have test-fired the Valkyrie Arms DeLisle remake. The key to it being quiet is the inherently subsonic .45ACP. A Tokarev round is moving way too fast to make it quiet.

You do realize pictures are usually not taken at perfect profile views, right?

The photo may be skewed a little since the camera is not pointing perfectly 90 degrees at the central plane bisecting the gun.

That does not mean the drawing is wrong.

Currently having a bit of a crisis worried that it's going to be a huge waste of time because I lack experience and what I'm doing won't be good enough etc

>>
>>25493970

It's been known for a long time that the common 'machinist's drawings' aren't exact to the original nor from any official source. There are plenty of part's kit build threads that come to the same conclusion from measuring original parts. You can see the results are very obviously out of proportion with the middle pic (especially the barrel shroud), which is an example 100% drawn to scale.

I would buy the kit, but I wanted to make it all myself. It's mostly a machining project. If you have even crude drawings of it, that would be a massive help. The part I'm most interested in is the striker + rear of the bolt. If you have the time I'd really appreciate it if you measured:
the striker
the striker channel
the diameter of the guide rods
the holes for the guide rods (how far they are from the center axis, or circumference)
You can do drawings in crayon and post them here. I don't need anything fancy.

>>25503357
Basically what I'm working on would be a variant of the IO kits that uses glock mags instead of sten mags. Some other people have shown interest in buying these, and I might consider doing a few extra ones to sell (cheaper than IO)

DP28 pin on right.
The M version has a longer tail as a recoil spring guide.

In my semi version I lopped off the tip, and drilled it though, then pinned the tip in place into the bolt.

So I was making a new fp insert that would go in the tip, acting as the actual pin.

Stock was out too far, and I figured I could get away with it if I made light cuts...
Nope. Hopped right up on the cutter.

The backwards facing trigger is an automatic safety.
>>
Could you [safely] build a sten (with a closed, unlocked bolt) in a full rifle caliber? Alternatively, what's the largest caliber you fire with a closed, unlocked bolt?
>>
>>25507372
No.

Case head separation would occur, even with a mass large enough to slow the acceleration, the pressure is simply too high, and the case grips the chamber walls too tight.

There used to be a US .mil project out there looking into it, it required lubricated ammunition and ejected cases so violently
>it was considered a hazard to bystanders
>>
>>25507408
>>25507372
Thats right, the Thompson Autorifle:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thompson_Autorifle

>On the positive side, the Autorifle action avoided the complexity of recoil-operated and gas-operated actions.

>On the negative side, the Autorifle required lubricated ammunition for proper functioning and the ejection of spent cartridge casings was so violent as to be hazardous to bystanders

I remembered that article almost word for word. Neat.
>>
>>25507408
20mm cannons didn't have locking bolts. Advanced primer ignition.
Really no need to lock the bolt if you have perfect timing and don't care about the condition of fired brass.
>>
>>25507432
They also fired from an open bolt using the slamming mass as an added inertial lock.

>don't care about the condition of fired brass.
Hence the fluted chamber on Jisuri. Its all about getting rod of the grip.

I've been around in diy threads for ages. here's how it went down
>new OC plans start popping up
>soon people realize that it's the same dude behind all of them
>he starts tripping because some people wanted him to
>new plans every month or so
>suddenly no new plans
>starts being all emo and shit
>tells us he's going to anhero
>some fag from /lit/ comes along and tells the other side of the story
>apparently his sister had died in Cambodia or something
>we assume he goes on a revenge trip
>suicide note is posted few months later
>comes back late 2014
>the guy doesn't want to explain anything but implies that he "did what was necessary" and that "he found peace"
>promised to continue his work
>disappeared again, this time suddenly without a warning

I am pretty sure he got caught and is in prison. In his earlier posts he did say that he had been in prison before, for arson and weapons charges IIRC.

Not very related to the topic, but I found the guy interesting enough. And his plans were pretty good and some of the designs were really interesting despite being simple as shit.

Question is do you want the classic looking STEN gun, or do you want a 9mm carbine. Because I've been working on a budget build that uses a few parts from the STEN, but requires all the rest to be built. Still working on the fine details, and if people are interested I will release the plans once I build it.

Looks good, I'd suggest flipping the charging handle slot. Having it more in view would make for a better indicator that something is amiss should one forget to retract it and send it into battery. Also, is that an AK grip and FCG?

In the works, I used some of the original STEN plans to model in CAD as a building block. Changing the angle of the charging handle will be one of the last things I do. And also yes, cheap and reliable AK trigger is going to be used in my build. The AK grip is something that works with the flat lower receiver so it felt right to include it also.

And the last one.

Guys, am basically begging for some bottle opener schematics for this beast. It isn't as easy as the AR because, as you can see, it isn't two pieces and (basically) one dimensional.
>>
>>25508860
Forgive me, I don't know a lot about bottles. What exactly does this bottle opener do?
>>
>>25508883
When the bolt is in full battery the front end is pushed up causing the rear end to depress the disconnector.
Auto fire in a semi only reciever.
>>
>>25508862
I have heard that a lot of people at gun shows specifically did that. Or maybe they sold the cut out capable things as paperweights, I don't recall.

What I DO recall is that the ATF (specifically the A part) really hated the whole minors-getting-bottle-openers thing. Something along the lines of enabling a minor.

>>25508883
This one works a lot like the AR bottle opener, but it works for an AK. Somehow. That's what I'm trying to figure out.
>>
>>25508909

>>
>>25508624
>>25508860
>>25508880
It's not a true link, as it requires a hole to be drilled in the receiver. IIRC a few were sold, then the ATF revised its position saying that the receiver is the MG. This was during that short timeframe where giggle enablers were not MGs,even post 86.
Now if they made a trigger pack of some sort...
>>
>>25503315
Cool, there only seemed to be 2 measurements I was missing but they're easy to fudge, but more accurate readings on the bolt diameter would be nice before I order the steel stock
Legitimately considering aluminum though, need to check strength ratings but hell in WWII there were plenty of STENs with cast bronze bolts so eh.
>>
>>25508880
If you're okay with going full auto regardless of what the ATF says, have you considered just getting a slidefire stock and popping a spring or something in it?
>>
>>25509061
Actually, I have. Slide fire stocks are initially designed to not accept springs, and especially not the springs big enough to push a gun forward.
