first i would set up trail cameras in the area and try to figure out which area skinwalker/wendigo/goatman is likely living in.
hopefully the agency can hook me up with something to mask my scent. if not then i will start a containable forest fire and bathe in ash.
during the day i would search for caves or mineshafts that may be a den. at night i would do my best to become a part of the landscape waiting motionless on a game trail. With any luck i will be able to hunt these things without them knowing i am there.

Carries a blanket and lots of water to put out fires (wish there was a fire extinguisher in this game).
Health kit includes bandages and morphine to help with those nasty burns.
I gave him a .50 cal rifle but no ammo because there's no .50 BMG in innawoods, just pretend there is. Its a secondary weapon to his rocket launcher. I like to imagine the rocket launcher is like the rocket launcher in Half-Life 2 and the rockets can be guided. The Deagle is in case a dragon or wyvern lands really close to him.
He carries a rope to help tie up a dragon if/when they capture him.
Just pretend the armour is fire-proof and has good chances of resisting being chewed on.
