There would be no reason for the Zepar/Furfur Kanon/Shannon duality if Beatrice were just a girl. The Shannon/Kanon conflict is a gender struggle at its heart, and it would not be the same if Yasu grew up with a normal sexual identity. Nor would it be a mere sex orientation issue, as it specifically ties into the furniture issue and what that actually means. Both Kanon and Shannon are "subhuman" furniture because neither is truly either gender. The idea that this duality really has no significance other than to portray Yasu's gender roles would make no sense. Where would that come from? What is the drive? In your case, there is none. What comparative physical issue would cause this specific belief? Every time someone tries to deny the truth here, they just lessen every key concept (furniture, injury, etc.) into something more palatable and completely ignore that they make no sense and have no comparative explanation. In EP7 she specifically says "this injury" has caused her to live as furniture with a physical body unable to love. Personally, I feel like it looks bad. Something about if feels off. The style and quality is not something I expected from a western release.
For me the PS3 version did it right if it's only about upgrading the sprites.
I feel almost bad for everyone that gets introduced to the series which those terrible sprites. I probably won't even buy it myself.

Yes I will. The original Umineko art was not bad. Especially in comparison to Higurashi's. Character design is incredibly important to a visual novel, as is the integrity of the artist's creation across adaptations.

It's not too hard to understand what I'm saying unless you've got reading comprehension issues. For all the talk about statements over complex critiques, you're sure doing a good job of that yourself. "Anime" is not an excuse for generic character design. Eva is hardly the only character here that has droopy eyes - Lambda in the image in your reply chain has them too. I don't think you know what buzzword means.
