What does the jay think about this fashion style?
There are lot of things I really like about it, such as comfy colors, large, simple dresses and extra hanging fabric (scarfs and coats) and comfy shoes/boots, such as opening pic and this (although I'm not 100% on these boots particularly, too shiny/manly).

On the other hand, there are things I don't like, such as bubble shorts, suspenders, and anything that looks straight out of a bishounen prince from a shoujo fantasy manga.

I myself am a hobo-styled person, and while I'd say morikei shares the comfiness of it, it goes on a different direction.
In hobo-style you have modern baggy clothes, like hoodies, cargo pants, sneakers and t-shirts.
Morikei is more on the "granny" side of shapes, yes, but it gets rid of the tacky patterns we usually see in grannies and make it harmonic, soothing. That's what I think.
It looks ethnic and exotic. Pretty cool.

It can get pretty modern as well, I believe pic related is also morikei.
But it still has that more antiquated look just by being large, simple and comfy.

Like with all fashions, these clothes look good in pictures because you see gorgeous twentysomething people wearing them.
The average person tries that style and looks like a kid dressed up for Halloween.
