What's the best way to play the old games on Windows these days? Back in the day I remember using Anex86 but I'm assuming there's something with more accurate emulation now
Emulate it on youtube.
>>15251400
Why
PC98 is great
>>15251400
How about you emulate my cock in your ass?
Anex86 runs fine for me with no noticable input lag. Some other anons said they had problems with it though.
>>15251359
NeXT or Neko Project II
Anex86 is the znes of PC-98
>>15251359
NP 21 NT I am not sure. It's a .exe with every Touhou-98 games on it.
>Most accurate emulation and full featured, but slower and requires more configuration
Neko Project 21
>Just werks
T98-Next
>If you run on a toaster or need WINE support
Anex86
All will run the games fine, but accurate FM synthesis is only up-to-snuff on Neko Project

You're right, but on the same token, that's a benefit in case the other options do not work for you, or you encounter abnormalities.
While we are on this topic, does anyone have the alternative MIDI tracks to SoEW? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

On a realted note, this exists: https://github.com/nmlgc/ReC98
Doesn't look like it's usable, but attempting to get the games to run natively looks like a really cool endeavor.

Personally, I've been using T98next on wine for years, so I can confirm that it also works.
>>15254978
Also at least a part of NPII compiles on Linux, but IIRC the performance sucked
I use anex86 and it works fine when windowed but when it's in fullscreen sometimes everything suddenly turns orange and I don't know why.
>>15255507
That's usually a problem with having high latency. After a certain point, the Doppler Effect kicks, and the flow of light out of monitor appears to become redder in comparison to the regular-speed light around you.
>>15255873
>regular-speed light
>>15251359
Still the same emulator BUT all pc98 games are now 100% translated.
>>15253087
It seems to work if you do all the compilation as he says, but dear god, the decompilation this person is doing is going to suck hard.
