It's odd, but I'm not a fan of most songs outside of what gets featured in PD and such.
For every fifty lesser known vocaloid songs I listen to, I like maybe one of them.
To be fair I do this with mainstream music too, I can't name a single album I would sit down and listen to.
The SF afternoon show was perfect, even though I showed up late. The opener was lackluster and I'm grateful that I was able to buy merch during the opener. Though I really would have preferred that 30-45 minutes for more non-Miku songs.
I'm debating about going to the LA show under general admission since I was so spoiled under VIP. How bad is it in the cheap seats?

It's upsetting, especially because I'm not a fan of Figma, so that closes down one of my few options then and there. The Tony one is nice, but the face isn't totally perfect either.

I like Miku too, and I would say anyone who is into Vocaloid is, but she isn't Luka.
The problem with Miku is that she gets far too much attention compared to everyone else to the point that all you ever see is Miku and nothing else.

I don't even think this is a 'problem', more or less. Vocaloid needs a face, a mascot, and this always has been and always will be Miku.
That said, the others just need a bit more attention. The main 5 and Gumi get it to a certain extent (IA too, as of recent times), but when was the last time anyone saw any Yukari goods, for example?

Every time a new vocaloid comes out some popular producer makes a few songs to promote it, and everyone jumps on the bandwagon and thinks it's going to be huge, and then no one uses it anymore. I'm very bias, but I will say that I often go looking for songs with male Vocaloids moreso than female ones.
My favorites are: Gakupo, Wil, VY2, Fukase and Bruno.
What makes me sad that there are so many losers that "drag" or bash male Vocaloids because they "sell less" and their quality is "inferior" when there is literally the same amount of female vocaloids that are also inferior in quality and that often have the same type of voice and end up not selling.
These end up being the same close minded nitwits that say all male Vocaloids are bad, and I honestly want them out of the fandom. Imbeciles.

Most male vocaloid songs I've heard, even high profile pd songs, have either been awfully done, or something about male voices is incompatible with vocaloid tech.
The only song that I've ever heard where kaito doesn't sound like he's swinging through water is cantarella, and that's still a near miss.
Ren too is often awfully tuned.
When female vocaloids are badly tuned you can still make out most of the lyrics, but kaito winds up sounding like an electric didgeridoo.

I'm not familiar with the 3rd album as I just got it at the same time as the 4th one. First album has both a bunch of GUMI and Miku, second one is almost only Miku iirc. They're both really good albums though, "Acedia" and "EdelWeiss" from the second album are fantastic.

I guess they just wanted to transition from a hobby to a career. But I've never seen a former Vocaloid producer go into career that they're actually happy with. Same with really old utaites.
I can guarantee you /jp/ if I ever get a shred of talent I'll be sure to stay Vocaloid only. Why would I willingly want to work with corporate stiffs or other meatbags for pennies when I can just release singles for pennies? You'd end up broke and tired no matter which path you choose. Might as well go with the fun path.
I had a real ordeal making it to the new york show a few years back. Found out about the tickets too late to get VIP, had to get a passport and pay extra to have it expedited in time, spent every dollar I had on busfare to get to new York, 16 hours each way, no money for food.
It was miserable, but worth it.

Literally this. Started collecting Vocaloid figurines, artbooks, keychains and albums since 2009. Only thanks to time itself and saving up helped me devote myself to my collection. Collecting CDs and Vocaloids are the most costly for sure. Many CDs are event only or Japanese shop only, making it difficult for most buyers to want to buy these things.
