According to data Nutaku received from DMM FKG devs, the first gacha update happened sometime during Mountain Lily event. The list from JP wiki agrees with the revival gacha but not the original events. Does anyone have first-hand memory of what gacha was like back then?

Spica only really shines after awakening, and you might suddenly need an awakened healer/armor for the next event, you never know.
Just keep piling up the crystals until you can afford both.
Unless nutaku finally changes the tradepost, but that doesn't happen instantly so you'll be able to buy Spica before they remove her

The wiki says that Camellia, Cattleya and Lilac were added on 16th February, which is Edelweiss event. The 2ch blog confirms this, as people have posted teams with these characters around that time.

I am not sure if there was a "featured girl" gacha associated with these girls, they might have been added without that kind of campaign. You may want to check if Nutaku staff accidentally skipped over the Cattleya/Camellia/Lilac update because of that.

Don't awaken Rita, 20% chance to a double shot isn't a good investment unless you already have awaken all your core units, also if you plan to use Rita, its obligatory to awaken Spica to make Rita somewhat useful (although dunno why you would replace Rita over Bashira, when AW Spica+Bashira trivialize most of the maps.
Bernice will die way faster if you awaken her (If you put her to tank 4 damaging foes at the time, IE the shadow bulls from the past event) so you will need a very good healing power there and Katie's 2% buff isn't that great to give her priority.

she's not a unit you'd care about cost much, but her skill will be invaluable for bosses.

she's not a particularly good unit as a unit, the reduction is nice but typically if you could place her down for the cost, you could place a soldier who in 20-30 seconds would give you more unit points to work with than her reducing the rest of your team by 2.

It's a nice bonus if you get her out early after your soldiers, but ultimately her skill is what you want so you want to keep her in a safe place.

Her HP/ATK/DEF are comparable to a plat soldier and if you mincost her she only costs 14. Having 2 block instead of 3 can be an advantage since she won't take as much damage as a soldier would.
After AW it's 3 cost reduction per unit, and it does add up. Can be especially useful if you use many cheap units.
As a side note her SAW has a 45 sec WT, so you probably want her out early just so you have it ready when you need it.

It would be foolish not to mincost her in my opinion (especially when it's not even that expensive since it's just a farm event), but to each his own.

You should obviously still farm for her if you can do the hardest map as it's free skill up chances, but I'm just saying if you end up with something like a 10/10 -2, think on whether it's worth trying to cr her instead of doing other things.

1. Take care of placement order. Place something else with higher DEF after the Artillery so it takes the hits while your artillery supports. If you don't have a healer already out be ready to retract the lightning rod.
2. Use a vampire hunter or archer to take out anything behind the artillery that might distract it. especially before it gets into the artillery's range if possible.

But I don't think you'll have too much difficulty, these first few events are difficult mostly because of RNG and the fact that not many people had a clue about the game back when it first came out. EN FKG gives you searches (extra stamina and affection items), secret gardens (extra fairies) and quests (extra gold) right off the bat, so its events will be easier than what DMM had at the very beginning of the game. Which is all well and good, because DMM FKG quickly adopted an easy event model anyway, and these first events are the remnants of its attempts at making Kancolle-esque RNGfests.

Fedora is best for cheapest good healer, and for having the best range with skill

Camilla is good for being the strongest with skill used

Liana is good for high base stats and outright preventing statuses

Iris does nothing better than those 3 at all weaker stats, weaker skill, higher cost, weaker AW skill.

As for SA Iris is easily the worst in most situations, Camillas is better, bosses rarely strike first most burst healing is needed later on.
Fedora SA is very useful healing 2 at once with her huge range and Lianas is also good.

Fedora have higher base att, but she can't empower her healing, comparable only to the silver healers (the silver ones heal for around 50 more), while Iris can reach 846. With SA is: 1045/896/747 With the plus that she heals all allies once each use.
Fedoras SA is only more range and heal two units, which is what feng shui users are for and they empower their healing, so nope she can't replace nor Iris or a Feng shui master.
It is a matter of 100% reliable use, vs gimmic range use.

Now there is a thing, with a party of Liana and Camilla, there is only one to fill easily the 3rd potential slot, and that is Chydis, not any of the 2 gold female healers.
On a side note....The god tier Memento revival map was only doable for me with 5 healers. I sucked really bad in that map.

Comparing Fedora and Iris with skill up is retarded since they have very different skills. Compare Iris with the other healers who fill the same role, such as Camilla and you'll find Iris very lacking.

Fedora is great as she can hit units out of other healers range negating the need for extra healers in many places saving cost and increasing dps.

The guy doesn't have Chydis and even if he did get her it wouldn't make sense to get her up to scratch, sure she could be easily used but replacing either Fedora, Camilla or Liana would provide small pluses or negatives. A fungshui would be a good replacement for a healer but Iris is the only one who doesn't excel in any area.

Iris is in no way a bad healer but she has nothing going for her you can't get elsewhere.

Nanaly is just Bashira 2.0 with 68 more atk and some range :^)

As for Iris Vs Fedora, I like Iris focussed healing more than Fedora's two unit heals (I have Mia so can't talk for someone who doesn't have a Feng Shui) Plus I don't have Camilla, Chydis or Liana. So my go to team is always Iris, Mia, Alissa and if I need an extra one, Ethel. I have a CC60 Fedora, but I find her very lacking at healing, thats why I use Ethel if I need a certain far away unit healed (Usually a blocker).

This completely ignores Iris's secondary effect, which is hitting the whole map with a heal. And at least for the first activation, healing two units for 1045 each is (barely) more HP healed than healing two units for 519 twice each. Beyond that, you may have a point for single target heals, but Fedora's use here is significantly more niche.

I believe Iris's skill has no limit, only that it stops dropping in power after the third. Someone feel free to correct me if that's wrong.

My Ethel is 4/5 and Fedora is 3/5. I'd argue that Ethel is more niche than Fedora is, its rare anyone suggests to use a battlepreist except for specific situations, but thats irrelevent, if she works for you its fine, I wouldn't suggest you remove Iris since she's your main burst, Mia being fung shui her burst isn't as useful as Iris is for bosses, but still just as needed.

You can't argue every unit for every situation, and not everyone has the same units.

My 1st squad is by far my strongest but their speed is horrendous - and if I were to manually split my characters into teams, I have no idea how I should go about it.

i just go to a new squad, filter them from ATK high-low, start laying them in vertical order (first girl on first squad, second girl on second squad on so on, then when i get to the last squad instead of going to the top and star again, i go in a zig-zag fashion so the power spreads well enough) when all squads are full i do some manual adjustments so all squads get all types of damage (as in red blue yellow and purple)

Although to be fair, doing my method all squads are really tight on speed from beetween one another so i didn't have much problem there

It can be on couple different things. Mainly if you main team is so slow they don't move far while another faster team that is weaker gets to strong fights you didn't want them to. Usually you can combat this by positioning them so that it won't happen. Sometimes you need to manipulate teams speed though so that you can get a certain result you want.
