I have mixed feelings about art books. While it's really nice to have all those pictures together, 99.999999% of the time you are just going to see the outside of it. It requires action to enjoy while wall scrolls or posters are just there.

Honestly OP if you absolutely want to buy merchandise I'd recomend you read through the buyfag guide on /a/. Ignoring the whole "crossie" shit it is a decent introduction to the hobby.
Also as a rule you don't want to buy anything from cons and physical stores outside of Japan as it will be overpriced to hell and back.
