Got my copy of Maitetsu. Unfortunately I don't have a drive to put the disc in so I'll just have to buy one or wait and download it with the rest of you guys. Need to finish Natsuha's route anyway, so probably won't be starting it for a few weeks (will be busy playing SO5 when it is out next thurs).

Got it at Sofmap, first time buying an eroge. The bag they give you has advertisements for Floral Flowlove and 千恋*万花 (they ask you if you are OK with that bag). Then it seems they put in a bunch of other advertisements in it, got a 15 page full colour "First Review Book" for ナツイロココロログ, a 恋クマ FD bookmark and some other stuff.

Considering the contents of what I've got I can say that I'm glad I live half the world away from my family. Now to decide where to put things, will have to avoid having loli nipples in plain site or I'll end up just spending all my time fapping.

Ended up getting another clear file in the lottery. Wonder if I'll ever get a decent prize.

There is a download version? DMM?
>>
>>14972968
For Monobeno there is a DMM serial code.
Maitetsu has a L.A.C. card, uses a service called buddy.

>>
>>14972953
Any chance you could put it on mega?
It's not traceable
>>

Unfortunately it uses Buddy, so you'll need a L.A.C. code to play it even if you do download it.

Anyone can access the download link, anyway (or so I think)

He's not wrong, but considering how piracy works, he should focus on preventing it on his own side - making good games and giving good extras.

Why do you think Lose had a super long line for Maitetsu's lottery event? Because they made buying it worth it.

And besides, I don't think Akabeisoft president can cry too much, Hatarakaku Otona was the best seller in January, wasn't it?

>>
>>14973385
>but considering how piracy works, he should focus on preventing it on his own side - making good games and giving good extras.
Pretty much this. The best form of DRM for me is making a product that's actually worth buying and supporting the company over. Putting "uncrackable" DRM on a mediocre moege I'm unlikely to spend much money (if any money) on just makes me read something else instead, not buy it.
>>
>>14973386
>You didn't miss much but it was a pleasure talking to the staff there during the autograph signing.

I already had a chance to talk to the writer before on a different event, which was pretty nice.

Was the producer (to-san) also on your event? He certainly doesn't look like someone I'd guess works in the eroge industry.
>>
All this hype around Maitetsu has really driven it home that "moe" makes me really uncomfortable. Everyone's hype about Maitetsu, and it looks really good... but I just can't bring myself to read it, because the vast majority of it is the same manufactured moe and pandering in every other moe game, you know? I'm not above moe, I'm not too smart for it or cultured or whatever, it just makes me uncomfortable. To read a novel where the characters are designed from ground up to be cute and appeal to people looking for cute. To read a novel written primarily to serve as a medium to railroad the reader through moe scenes and then tidily hand them H-scenes. It feels so fake, I can't get behind it. Maybe it's just that I've read SO MANY moe games now, that I can't see Maitetsu as anything but as a teenager might see a mall santa: Good in heart, but commercial and fake through and through.

It took years of playing them, but now, moe games are no longer sources of cute heartwarming friendship, but manufactured discomfort, to me.
>>
>>14973408
Don't almost all VNs have moe elements?
>>
>>14973403
>Was the producer (to-san) also on your event?

He just stayed in the back of the audience. Probably seeing as the writer, the VAs, and the artist seemed to be the main focus of the event.

>>14973408
>Good in heart, but commercial and fake through and through.
Good thing I see myself as a teenager might see a mall santa. Maybe you're just burned out. Nothing wrong with commercial because that's about every industry ever. Also have you at least tried the trial?
>>
I just wish all the developers would just put their games on DL sites.
I wouldn't mind paying for Maitetsu really but fuck importing it in my country, I don't want to go to jail

At least Akeiro and Jeanne are in DMM so I can buy them
>>
>>14973021
You could try replacing the protected .exe with one from the trial or monobeno. It might work, I know it does for some games because VN engines are like that.
>>
>>14973408
I understand what you mean, although I haven't read Maitetsu yet. Before I used to read and watch moe stuff without any issues, but as of late it doesn't really inspire that "moe" protective, heart-warming feeling in me anymore even if they look cute. Maybe because the majority of the time they don't feel like actual characters but just a bunch of traits thrown together to appease otaku (note I'm not saying there's anything wrong with appealing to them). But for me to grow close to characters they have to have personality, which a lot of these moe characters tend to lack.
>>
>>14973386
Feel like uploading the exe+sig to see if that's enough to run the DL version from >>14973021 ?
>>
>>14973432
>Nothing wrong with commercial because that's about every industry ever.
Ahhh, well, I see what you mean, just about every VN is sold after all, but there's a lot of VNs I see and don't get this "fake" feeling at all. VNs that do seem they were written as artistic expression first and foremost, or at least the expression was morphed to be commercial but didn't become fake moe to hook buyers.
>Also have you at least tried the trial?
I got some ways into it but I couldn't finish it, like I said, felt really uncomfortable before I even downloaded it.
>>14973431
The distinction I'm seeing is "characters made to be moe in a game about moe" vs "characters with a primary narrative purpose being moe at points in the narrative". I don't think you could look at Maitetsu and say that the characters were designed with a narrative in mind. I think Maitetsu may end up having a strong narrative, will have to wait for the full game, but even then it'd be a strong narrative drenched in manufactured moe constantly taking the spotlight.
>>14973459
>Maybe because the majority of the time they don't feel like actual characters but just a bunch of traits thrown together to appease otaku
I know exactly what you mean. Putting aside actually high quality games like Maitetsu, mass-produced moe games are seriously pathetic in characterization. They're almost indistinguishable from nukige, that's how bad it gets.
>>
>>14973486
I think it's interesting how Maitetsu had merchandise up even before we knew the plot, characters, or even the title of the game itself. I felt kind of uncomfortable at that, like they were already whoring out their characters.
>>
>>14973517
They were selling based on trust Lose earned from Monobeno -happy end-.

August is also selling tapestries with Sen no Hatou characters already.
>>
>>14973524
I remember an anon here buying the tapestry for his Sen no Hatou waifu. When asked how he knew she was going to be his favourite, he responded that he could already tell what her character would be just from her design. That really struck me.

I also think it's a bit meaningful, that the trust Lose earned went to purchased anime girl merchandise, I kind of feel like that's what I mean, that Maitetsu is more "cute anime girl merchandise" than a meaningful story with meaningful characters.
>>
>>14973540
>Maitetsu is more "cute anime girl merchandise" than a meaningful story with meaningful characters.

Maitetsu is the writer's tract on his love for railroads and trains. And the artist's picture tract on his love for lolis and pissing.

And yes, I firmly believe Hotori-chan will be the best Sen no Hatou girl, but in the end I abstained from getting her tapestry just yet. Surely there'll be a better chance on summer Comiket.
>>
>>14973540
We will see. Maitetsu looks like it's going to be good but I doubt I'll enjoy it as much as I did monobeno, part of the reason being what you stated above, even if the girls themselves are appealing and the story is interesting.
>>
>>14973524
They haven't sold any H-stuff yet for Sen no Hatou, or at least I haven't seen it yet. Not that it matters. I just think we're gotten quite shallow if we'll put down hundreds of dollars on merchandise that has a cute and/or naked girl on it, because we can. And the cycle repeats every few months. People are free to spend their money on whatever they want, but we're not much different from the fools who buy every newest reiteration of the iPhone and forget all about it as soon as something newer and shinier comes along.

>>14973540
Yeah, but I'll still have to wait for the full game to be uploaded before I start. I hope we're mistaken.
>>
>>14973554
I recently had a bad experience with あの晴れわたる空より高く, it may have been written with the authors love for rockets but holy hell were the character interactions and the girls themselves painfully artificial. Well, to me at least. It was like the love of rockets having a fake moe girl tortilla wrapped around it, and to get to it you have start chewing.
>>14973562
I don't doubt it's going to be good, all this maitetsu posting and its mass marketing just really made me face how uncomfortable it made me. At the very least it will be a shining example of moe in comparison to raw garbage like 恋する気持ちのかさねかた.

I mean, at some level I respect him, but once he starts pulling multiple copies of the same game he bought to get different store extras, a bag of games he bought the previous month and didn't open it, tapestries he only looked at once and keeps them rolled and shelves full of games he says he never got a chance to play, you can tell he's going too far.
>>
>>14973590
>It was like the love of rockets having a fake moe girl tortilla wrapped around it, and to get to it you have start chewing.

This kind of thing makes me uncomfortable as well, even though I completely understand it. They have to sell a game and you sell eroge based on girls primarily unless you've got the top names in writing or VAs. No one would buy a game that's just a pretty pictures documentary about some topic the writer loves. It does however make me feel like games that could be a "break" of sorts from the usual fare are wasted on aspects the writers are not strong at and therefore end up mediocre or outright bad.

>>
>>14973540
Because most eroge these days sell company trust and whatever marketing assets (artwork, big-name staff) they have as opposed to the actual story. They need you to want the game before it's out, to preorder it because the moments it's on the streets, it's available in second-hand shops for half the price and that IMO is a much worse problem than piracy.

Company trust is essentialy what made Yuzusoft the giant it is now - you know you're getting Murikobu art, lots of moe and a speck of plot - so it's nothing to sneeze at.
>>
>>14973675
Yeah, I said I respect it, living happily like you want is something I see as good, but pointless excess isn't ever a good idea.
>>
>>14973680
Yeah, that's what I mean. I'm not sneezing at it, just pointing to it as indicative of what makes me so unenthusiastic about the game.
>>
>>14973692
Think of it the other way: every year, there are 2~3 dark horses nobody counted on that turn out to be honest-to-god good games, or at least better than what were they sold as. It's more fun being surprised.

https://vndb.org/v10001
This is a prime example, as I don't think anybody expected for Yatagarasu to produce a decent, fairly innovative story-driven game with it's dying breath, not after such masterpieces as Tentacle Lord.
>>
>>14973736
I still need to get a vita to play the port of that.
>>
>>14973736
It is a weird cycle, isn't it? You wish there were more dark horse out-of-nowhere pleasant surprises, but they can only exist because there's so much generic shlock. The more pleasant surprises there are the less of a surprise they are and the less pleasant they feel.

And you can't search them out either, because then you're expecting it to be a pleasant surprise which fucks with your expectations and will usually produce a letdown. So you have to pretend like everything's gonna be terrible.

Liking things is actually kinda complicated.
>>
>>14973459
>Maybe because the majority of the time they don't feel like actual characters but just a bunch of traits thrown together to appease otaku
I often feel the same. Heroines in plotge usually end up being a lot more memorable because they're characters first and heroines second. The reason, why f.ex. Muramasa heroines are so memorable is because they have their own ideals, goals and also faults that aren't just suddenly overwritten by the power of love.

Conversely heroines in moege usually exist in a vacuum and revolve around the protagonist's dick. I know that you can't really run from this since the games are obviously supposed to be about dating cute girls and I'm not saying that no moege has memorable heroines, but there's only so many times you can recycle the same heroine, setting, humor or relationship development archetypes before they get stale.

>>14973590
>あの晴れわたる空より高く
I dropped the game for the exact same reasons. If you disregard the abnormal amount of infodump on rocket development the whole game felt like just the same as any high school club / festival project fare with cliche heroines.
>>
>Heroines in plotge usually end up being a lot more memorable because they're characters first and heroines second

And often it happens so that when you try giving the heroine agency, she ends up getting backlash from wota. Yuuna from Kanishino springs to mind, IIRC she was the least popular heroine even though I thought her route was was really cleverly written.

Then again I don't get the Takehaya age Marutani sage when it comes to that game.
>>
>>14973804
Because Sumika and Misaki's routes were crap and the other three were really good romance routes that played well with the heroine in question.
>>
>>14973817
What? Takehaya's routes were borderline unreadable and both Sumika's and Misaki's were way more entertaining than anything in his half of the game, even if they weren't on the same level as Yuuna's. I don't understand how anyone can unironically say that they even enjoyed the routes marutani didn't write in that game to be completely honest.
>>
>>14973834
And I can't understand how you couldn't enjoy Miyabi or Shino's route, they blew the fuck out of Sumika's and Misaki's

>. I don't understand how anyone can unironically say that they even enjoyed the routes marutani didn't write in that game to be completely honest
That's like the most common opinion ever about Kanishino
Or what do you think everyone who played Kanishino and enjoyed Takehaya's routes are just trolling you?
>>
>>14973804
>Yuuna from Kanishino springs to mind, IIRC she was the least popular heroine even though I thought her route was was really cleverly written.
I guess people didn't like her route almost veering into NTR territory (though later it's revealed she's still a virgin) more than the other twists, which in my opinion were a little too easy to guess as well. Like seriously, did the writer expect the player to find it surprising that Yuuna's friend (I don't remember her name anymore) was actually a nice person when one of the interludes spoils it or Yuuna doing business when the protagonist mistakes the stock price screen for a video game she's playing? I liked her route to be sure, but not more than the first three.

>>14973834
>I don't understand how anyone can unironically say that they even enjoyed the routes marutani didn't write in that game to be completely honest.
Might be just the case of me getting tired with the game, since like I've said before in previous threads the drama surrounding the protagonist got stale after a while because it's repeated in all the routes apart from Yuuna's, in which it's just handwaved away.

Sumika's in particular was annoying because of both her and the protagonist being indecisive bitches, though I liked the main twist of her parents actually caring for her since unlike Yuuna's friend's twist it was more subtly foreshadowed. Misaki's route on the other hand was almost completely devoid of drama since unlike the other girls she didn't have troubles of her own, though it fleshing out the reason behind the protagonist's trauma could have been nice if it hadn't already been talked to death in the previous routes. Maybe my experience of the game would've been different if I had played through the parts written by Marutani first.
>>
>>14973951
I did Marutani first, then Takehaya, my order was Sumika-Misaki-Yuuna-Tonoko-Shino-Misaki
I definitely enjoyed Takehaya's side more, no question

Apparently, somebody took that 'VIP only game' and posted on sukebei, and now they are pissed

Oh yeah there was that almost-incest thing. It's been a while since I read Kanishino.

And while I agree the repetition in Marutani is really tiring, I appreciated how intertwined the routes were - it helped the heroines & side characters stay relevant to the overall plot and gave the impression they have social connections aside from the protagonist.

I liked Takehaya's part as well, Shino in particular (she had the most reasonable reason for being stuck in a school in the middle of nowhere as opposed to your parents don't want you anymore) but you really had the feeling you're, well, romancing a moege heroine. I was also confused by that shota who shows up at the beginning of Miyabi's route, does jack shit for the majority of it and then conveniently resolves the plot.

So I guess summing up Takehaya part is character-driven and Marutani part is more plot-driven and it all depends on what kind of game you like.
>>

Yes, now Aqua's route is unlocked, after hers is Asuka's.

Yeah, though the order is locked. Pick all Aqua choices and one of them leads to a new choice. After her route pick all Asuka choices. Also once you're done with the game (I'd suggest reading the side stories as well), like the anons in the previous thread said make sure to download and play Aqua After, which wasn't included in the remake of the main game.

If you want more of her, you need to get all the endings (bad endings and side story endings included), then read everything from TIPS section (the Aoi skits, not the keyword list) which are unlocked by getting all the endings. The last one is unlocked by playing through all the other skits.

So, I assume this is the thread to ask theses things but if not, feel free to tell me and I will delete this post.

Anyways, I'm most likely very late but I started playing 祝姫 and being a huge fan of Ryuukishi07 I was really excited. I'm not really far into it but I find it pretty... underwhelming? I don't think it's bad but It's not really what i was expecting, especially with the MC who seems to have no flaws and the random english words(please make It stop).
And I'm wondering if It gets better or maybe I am just being retarded (Which is possible since it's my first actual VN in japanese exluding Nukiges)

But there's one thing that's been kinda bothering me, is It my imagination or is 椿子's voice really different in some scene almost like It's another, completely different, VA.

Sorry, I'm terrible at that posting thing so It might have been painful to read through.
>>

>all-ages
The anime was shit too so no thanks.
>>
>>14974296

Which one?
>>
>>14974296
>So that Island game has no H scenes?
Rather than H-scenes, I'm a little worried about how "mature" it is going to be in general.

Himawari had some very mature plot elements and even in the all ages remake they couldn't completely take out underage characters having sex since it's plot relevant, though all of it was still heavily implied to have happened off screen. Aqua After didn't probably receive a remake due to this reason (underage pregnancy) even though the fan disk is technically all ages with no actual sex scenes or anything violent.

Compared, Island is all ages from the get-go. Not that it absolutely has to have mature elements like Himawari in order to be good and I haven't played the trial so I can't say anything about the game yet. I'm still hyped as hell.

This game was pretty disappointing for me, it had too much bad filler gore and madness scenes that didn't add up to the story or charcters and the charcters chapters gave me the feeling of reading rape nukige and also the ending totally sucked. Like I went literally " Is that it? "
This is actually my first R07 work, and I heared that Umineko ending sucked too, Its really a shame because the game had many hype moments and was building up to be something really great just to end up in a forced dues ex machine happy ending. If there is something I enjoyed it would be the battles against evil crazy bitches like the witches is Umineko.

Mate I understand you, but he already refused a couple times. No need for begging in 3-5 different posts, just play something different for a while. If its still not uploaded after 2-3 weeks (which I doubt since at worst chinese devs will release it after 2 weeks) we can start begging.

That's all piracy arrests in general, not specifically eroge. Also, of course they're going to catch a lot of people on a round up, that's the whole point, to catch as many people as they can before they get scared off by arrests. I didn't notice any mention of how long they were investigating either, so for all we know it could've been a year or more; it had to have been several months at the very least. Overall, your odds of getting caught are slim to none unless you're not being careful at all and/or distributing a lot of material.
