This thread is for the discussion of untranslated Japanese visual novels.

What are you playing? What are you looking forward to? What have you finished? You know the drill.
>>
And since January's releases will start coming tomorrow, what are you planning on getting?
>>
>>14680198
Iam interested in
働くオトナの恋愛事情
凍京NECRO
祝姫
But since one of them has uncracked DRM and the other probably won't work on my PC, I'll just go with 祝姫.
>>
>>14680396

Which?
>>
>>14680405
働くオトナの恋愛事情.
"Uncracked" is claim of that akabeisoft crack, I'd take it with a grain of salt.
>>
>>14680198
はにかみ CLOVER
妻みぐい3
らぶ撮りハレーション
巨乳大魔王のドスケベクエスト~完全敗北した少年勇者クンUC~
働くオトナの恋愛事情
>>
>>14680396
If I can't play karuku otona, I'll go with tokyo necro.
>>
>>14680413
Oh good, I thought it was the other.
>>
>>14680198
Gears of Dragoon 2 and 働くオトナの恋愛事情

I did the trial of 凍京NECRO and 祝姫, both were mediocre as hell so not interested
>>
>>14680396
Tokyo Necro's trial ran okay on lowest setting for me and I have i3 4000M - Intel HD 4600 notebook, which is hardly anything good.

So what's the big chuuni release this year?

The song is really good but the animation if you can call it that is horrible. I can deal with poorly animated hair or clothes but this is too much.
>>
>>14680978
I already used that. It's weird, It used to works 1 year ago. I guess I'm just going to wait for hanikami to be released tomorrow.
>>
Anyone who played yukikoi melt can tell me your impression about it? I'm interested in it but I heard it's borderline nukige. I'm looking for comfy moege that isn't snorefest.
>>
>>14681184
I have played it. Yeah it has a little more h-scenes than an average moege (6 per heroine, 25 at total) but nowadays every moege have at least 3-4 h-scenes per a heroine so I dont consider it as a borderline nukige at all. A couple ones come one after the another though, maybe thats the reason why they felt like that.

About the game itself; I can say that common route is pretty comfy and Taruhi & Yuki is pretty cute but it has some classic problems, like why does some heroines fall in love with mc or why do they want him so much etc. I dont think "It'll be fun!" is an enough answer for chasing specially him so much without any reason.

Overall I found it as a better than average, but not too great game, most likely because I liked Yuki's personality too much. If you are searching for something comfy, there are a couple better choices like amakano or 天気雨 but this one isn't so bad either imo.

So does this heroine from CURE GIRL actually get raped? I'm getting conflicting information here. Or does it not matter to VirginDB (which I doubt) because it doesn't happen in her route so she's still technically a "virgin"? Or maybe someone just incorrectly tagged it on vndb. Can someone who has read it chime in on this?
>>
>>14681834
The problem is that compared to the vndb tag "Other Route Rape."

Well to be more accurate both sites match that there is indeed a rape attempt, but it's the "other route rape" tag on vndb that is bothering me. Either VirginVB doesn't have that information or the tags are wrong on vndb.

>>
>>14681889
Aw, that's disappointing then. Thanks.
>>
I just realized the awful truth. Heroines are still considered virgins even if they are raped by someone other than the protagonist during the the story since technically they were still virgins up until that point. For some reason in my mind a virgin heroine = purity for the taking exclusively for the protagonist. Why didn't I realize something so simple sooner?
>>
>>14682100
Virgin DB would call those non-virgins I'm sure
>>
>>14682100
If it bothers you, just check VirginDB and/or EGS, since the purity autists will mention it there.

His art's getting progressively shittier with every game and it wasn't even good to begin with, honestly. Iris needs to just hire a better artist.

>>14681474
She really cranks up the sluttiness in her after story, too. Too bad she's a hag.

>>14682273
This is actually why I really don't like Alice's route. It's kind of tedious and repetitive with the same running back to the hospital drama every other chapter. Natsuha's is better with this but I feel like it has similar problems. Sumi's route is probably the best part of the game.
>>
>>14682799
Alice seems like a nice girl

I had no expectations for this game and simply gave it a shot because it's animated. Seems pretty decent, though. I like the 90s news.

Is the new Jellyfish game (I Virgin, was it?) also animated?
>>
Oh man, I was going to start 妹選抜総選挙 because I actually like the "getting suddenly sisters" type moeges, but seems like he wasn't getting just 3 sisters, its 364. Thats a little too much even for me, gotta search something new.
>>
>>14683146
How is Sisters, by the way? I tried reading Lovers years ago and I couldn't stomach how awful the protagonist was. Dropped the game and fapped to the CG set.
>>
>>14683496
Like I said, pretty decent so far. Very calm atmosphere, the drama is a bit retarded though.

Protag isn't that prominent. Typical blank sheet protagonist except he can play guitar.

I'm not that far though, so things might change.

hey /jp/
need some help if anyone knows about this...
I have a kirikiri2 game which I want to extract several of the assets, assets in question allow for modular build of girl, an image for body, another for boobs, another for hair, etc...
they're all build together on the screen, I managed to extract all the images and files from the data.xp3 archive, however I can seem to find the data info about said images, coordinates depth and etc.
Anyone knows if these can be found somewhere?

It's just an .exe cryptor with one-time online activation that's been around for years. as long as you have a license you can unpack and fix the executable (and if they fucked up you don't need even that, see Soft Denchi). Definitely crackable, Raidy 3 had it. I was expecting something more sinister like game files streamed from a server.

So I was listening to the first episode of this year's minori's web radio and they featured just fine a mail from a korean guy who was buying Tsuminohi, and the VAs sounded pretty happy about it when they read it. I thought minori made it clear that they didn't like foreigners even installing their games in the minorigate fiasco. Did they fix their assholeness a bit or something? How did that end up?

I've just finished the common route and don't really care for her, either. Maybe it's because I heard about the true end, but it made the MC being so fixated on her really annoying.

Why do soo many good visual novels go unrecognized? You would think as niche and autistic as the vn fanbase is that nothing good would go unnoticed, and yet anytime I find something good or great most of the time it has less than 100 votes on vndb. For example a great game can get bad score or not being popular just because it doesnt have h-scenes or have few, while some games like 僕と恋するポンコツアクマ can become really popular / can get very high scores (it has fucking 80 at egs) because it has very hot scenes.

Of course thats also part of the opinion though, just wanted to say that popularity is not directly related with being good / bad. Thats the reason why I'm suggesting to read reviews or ask thoughts of other people instead of just deciding with its popularity.
>>
>>14686327
>It is when you start saying the things you enjoy are "good", like there's some objective measure of goodness that your likes fill and your dislikes do not.
I can assure you there's at max 1 or 2 people who unironically believe their taste is "objectively good" in this thread. We all fucking know it's all about opinions. We don't need to state it. Or are we gonna start every single post in this thread with "Weeeeell, in *MY* humble OPINION, X is good/bad"?
>>
>>14686321
i liked it but it's a multipart series assuming the rest gets turned into a VN as well so there's plenty that can go wrong.
>>
>>14686301
>>14686306
This, plus I once had a spreadsheet with images and everything but lost it.

>>14686305
I dont even care about x or y being popular or unpopular. My issues is more about the discrepancy between a theoretical 8/10 and 9/10. One is forgotten and called shit, the other is hailed as a must read. You would think people would have more perspective, considering how subjective these things are. Then there are the people spitting hyperbole like this guy. I'm sure he thinks that if he has not read it, then it must be bad.
>>14686224
>>
>>14686347
Considering the web version hasn't been updated in a year and that everything published is in the game you'll have to wait a very long time for the other part of the series, if they are ever released which is doubtful.
>>
>>14686357
actually the game only covers 2/3 of what exists of the current web novel so there's quite a bit left, but your point still stands. i just hope this turns into MGQ for me all over again, waiting for sequels, instead of the next game(s) never happening period.
>>
>>14686345
>Why do soo many good visual novels go unrecognized?
>Why do the things I like go unrecognized?

>You would think as niche and autistic as the vn fanbase is that nothing good would go unnoticed, and yet anytime I find something good or great most of the time it has less than 100 votes on vndb.
>You would think as niche and autistic as the vn fanbase is that nothing
I like would go unnoticed, and yet anytime I find something I love most of the time it has less than 100 votes on vndb.

I'm not implying any of the stuff that's been implied at me except that that poster is confusing what he likes for what is good.
>>
>>14686308
西暦2236年 seemed much cooler. games that use science and literature from real life in smart way to build the plot are always cool, too bad the game isnt uploaded.
>>
>>14686418
You could always buy it
>>
>>14686405
Does anyone read something, like it, then think its bad?
>>
>>14686418
You're right, it does look interesting.
>>
>>14686448
That doesn't matter. The poster is just complaining "why don't people like the things that I like more?"
>>
>>14686508
I think it was more along the lines of "why don't I hear more about stuff that's not as popular. " , not a cry to "like what I like". I think it's true that people only a talk about what is hot that month and sweep everything else under the rug. It's like only caring about the super bowl and not talking about any of the regular season game. Or only watching the biggest summer blockbuster, and passing over everything else.
>>
>>14686448
There's been a couple of cases where I've really enjoyed games because they perfectly align with the type of things I like, but in retrospect realize it just wasn't very good.

> No fucking Characters
Why every survey like this excludes characters when asking for most important aspect of VNs? It looks as if survey makers don't play VNs themselves.
>>
>>14686675
>In case you are pirating visual novels, what are the reasons?

I'm pirating the games first, then buy them if I really like for the support, but there isnt any choice similiar to this so I'm picking "I don’t pirate visual novels".
>>
>>14680476
Anything that isn't shit?
>>
>>14686675
>14. What visual attribute is the most important for you?
>Story
>Writing
This distinction is dumb and ambiguous. And yeah, where's the option for characters?

Also, where's the option for pirating because some older shit is literally just not available for purchase anymore? Have fun spending the price of a car on a used copy of Shoin, for example.
>>
>>14686675
Personally I pirate out of pure laziness - it's just so much easier to go to nyaa and grab the VN than anything else.
>>
>>14685654
I actually think that with stuff like that every price is fair, in some sense. The higher the price is, the fewer people buy it, and the fewer people buy it the better the product because you aren't competing with as many people to interact with the people you want to interact with.
>>
>>14686775
>This distinction is dumb and ambiguous
There's nothing ambiguous or dumb in it. Its very common for story and writing to be on different levels, for example story not existing at all while writing to be very good.
>>
>>14686808
You have to be a good writer to write a convincing story. An interesting plot is one aspect of good writing, as is humor, character interactions, and many other things. It makes no sense to separate the two.

Amiami is funky with my credit card. They suddenly stopped accepting it last year, and my preorders failed because of it. Their support refused to assist with it, bank said its problem on shop side, and I just gave up trying to order anything through them anymore.

On the bright side, DMM now officially sells stuff to gaijins and it works well with my card.

So seems like はにかみ clover has a short common route with "10" h-scenes per a heroine. Seriously I think I almost lost all my will to play, I cant handle that much h-scenes in a row. I dont think even nukiges have 40 h-scenes in a game nowadays.

Typical Venus Blood game has over 100, so 40 is nothing.

Akabee shacho is technology retarded and he thought having to activate the game online and making it connect to the server every time on launch is magically going to make it hard to pirate. If you're a good cracker you only need to launch the game once to be able to intercept the decryption key and dump the executable. The only obstacle is obtaining the license key to be able to authenticate. If they made a challenge-response protection that would send requests to the server constantly to grab data that's required for the game to run further which is especially suitable for eroge, that would make it hard to crack but of course they're too poor and retarded to do that so they opted for a protection from an outside company.

Buddy is pretty old (last update was in 2011 lol), Raidy went uncracked for several months and some games never got cracked but that probably was only because nobody gave a fuck about those. Perhaps that's what convinced him of the supposed uncrackability.
