Yaorochi pretty much attempted to revive the strongest sword in existance, and partially succeeded. She's are a youkai who's existence was created when Orochi was killed, from his arm specifically. Her attacks are pretty okay, though I just like the overall design and the chemistry between her and Sukune. She's Len'en 2's last boss.

The upgrade system is great and the barrier system really makes the game incredibly easy. I don't see how JynX would add a lower difficulty than easy after this. Really, BPoHC might finally be a way for JynX to branch out of the 2hu mechanics if it catches on enough with the fans. All 4 games. The 4th one is in demo only.
1st game has amazing feel, wonky design.
2nd game has a bit better design but fails overall to fix what the 1st did. Introduces the flash bomb which is a really cool mechanic.
3rd game has teams and an amazing 4th stage boss. Best design of the 3 games and overall great game.

I think that anon's reffering to how characters change their mugshot facial expressions whenever they use another spell. I know that Aoji starts out a bit scared-ish and gets really excited as the fight goes on, or Shou who starts out cocky until she uses her last spell and looks panicky. As someone with a musical background, I feel it's not ZUN-tier composition, but he still manages to compose catchy songs which makes up for the lack of complexity. My only other gripe with his songs is how poorly mixed some can get, such as EMS's stage 4 and 6 themes. Those trumpets are too loud. Overall, they get the job done and they're not awful, but not amazing either.

To be honest, I was surprised that very few had tried to make games like Touhou (pattern-based bullet hell shooters with all-female casts and fantasy settings) given the sheer popularity. That JynX had actually taken the plunge was what drew me to Len'en in the first place.
I had come up with my own Science Fantasy idea, but I don't have any art, music, or coding skills. That JynX is doing this alone for free is pretty nuts. Even ZUN makes money, and even if he didn't, he still has his fandom to give him motivation.

The samurai-emperor Taira no Masakado also has a lot of input in the 3rd and this next game. The capital city of Mugenri is called Devanagara that also refers to the text of the same name and such... No upgrades Hard mode for all routes first. I would go straight to Lunatic, but the stages are too random to go without upgrades, nearly breaking the game. Unless JynX nerfs the randomness, I'll stick to Hard.
