And what the Aroduc secret project ? Don't tell me it is Baldr Sky Zero to troll Force and Dive fans.

Here comes the bundle spike.

In other news, the princess evangile wallscroll bundle has begun to show a quantity remaining(44). If we assume the minimum printrun quantity to be atleast 500(and likely higher at that) from doddlers words regarding why certain titles have not gained hardcopies and we assume said print to have been split evenly between the bundle and the nonbundle, this suggests atleast 200 evangile hardcopies have been ordered. Not bad for extra money.

As always, this tracker is powered by anonymous like you, so post order numbers if you got em'
>>
>>14567550
It's probably a minimum of 800.
>>
>>14567543
2 isn't done? The patch that was released was for beta testing, the game won't be done for a few months still. Aroduc has stated he intends to work on 3 but he also said he had two smaller projects planned so those will probably go before BB3.

I liked Gahkthun quite a bit overall. And I hope MG translates its fandisc, because it takes place a year later, so it's basically the epilogue of the story.

The one chapter that I thought wasn't very good was Chapter 10. Everyone else in the story acted like idiots due to Coercive Suggestion, but Amy and Jo weren't under it. Amy stealing her sister's fiance and then wanting to kill her for not being as cheerful around her anymore was just moronic. And Jo promised Neon she wouldn't try to steal Tesla from her way back in Chapter 5, but still asked him on a date and had sex with him. Considering what her sister did to her, you'd think she'd know better than to do something like that. I actually think Jo could've been a much more interesting character if they gave her a better story arc and didn't just have her as the other woman.
>>
>>14568114
Yeah but who's better, him or Ixrec?

The top 5 most looked forward to 2016 MG releases are:

I hope MG reconsiders those hard copy w happiness at launch. They both have the original game sales numbers and the popularity poll of the fan disc. It should add up well enough for a justified hard copy sale.
>>
>>14568725
A popularity poll isn't exactly a good indicator. Obviously the games that get on Steam will sell the best. Gahkthun and KnS2 had high numbers in the poll, but their sales haven't exactly been impressive so far.

Princess Evangile's sales data is definitely useful though. However they might still have a delayed hardcopy release in order to give them time to patch bugs that could be found at launch.

>White Album 2 - 17052/35275 (48.34%) lines of closing chapter translated
Why is this still on the list, when even Fuwanovel considered the "TL" bad enough to remove from theirs?
>>
>>14568748
I don't think multiple choice data is that far from the truth. The other polls are meaningless however since if you like 3 games equally you can only randomly pick one anyway.
>>
>>14568988
The poll offers the chance to win a popularly voted game for free. People might not want to pay for the game, especially a $45 one, but would be more than happy to vote for a chance to get a free copy of it.

I'm pretty sure what happened was that xero approached mikandi and mikandi looked at that muvluv kickstarter, saw the dollar signs, and jumped right in.

Though at least one of the parties are heavily invested in this, as they went ahead despite their prefundia, where they were heavily warned to temper their expectations(something they seemed to acknowledge with their goal cutdown).

Can I play BB2 without having finished the first? It was too hard for me...
>>
>>14569771
Why don't they do what sekai is doing? Tricking evn devs and Indies to work with them? It looks pretty easy judging from how many announcements sekai does on a monthly basis.
>>
>>14570058
They have a moral compass?
>>
>>14569703
If I remember correctly. Siliconera received a massive storm of shit from their audience after covering Mangagamer news, since unrelated to the news covered even, they found other contents of Mangagamer's catalogue to be objectionable. And thus saw it morally unfit and vile to publish Mangagamer related news.

In other words. Crazy people are trying to suppress them. That, or Sekai shills are trying to hog all the limelight by throwing dirt at their competition.
>>
>>14570159

No, the guy working for Siliconera who liked MG left or was fired or something. They always had a bias against games with adult content but only made exceptions for things staffers liked (eg. KnS or things staffers were working on fan projects for).
>>
>>14569958
No.
>>
>>14570159
I thought they covered some of MG's all ages announcements last summer.
>>
I don't understand why an adult game company would ever want to be covered in a non-adult media. It is like trying to sell boats at a car dealers magazine. Maybe you find someone, but it certainly isn't the right place to be.

At best you just get SJWs whining about ruining their perfect illusionary world.
>>
>>14570254
You don't understand why a business would want exposure and promotion?
>>
>>14570254
This is an especially dumb example because there's probably a good demographic crossover between people reading car magazines and potential boat owners. Just like there is between people reading sites dedicated to covering niche Japanese games and potential visual novel buyers.
>>
How often does MG advertise on 4chan's pink boards? Maybe they should think about it more often.
>>
>>14570414

We have before, but consider for a moment that most people (I'm sure yourself included) use ad block these days. Traditional ads just aren't worth it most of the time.
>>
>>14567632
>Aroduc has stated he intends to work on 3 but he also said he had two smaller projects planned so those will probably go before BB3.

>I hope to finish the script files themselves this week, and then it's cleanup and whatnot before back to the behemoth for the next probably 6-8 months, although I may announce it some time before then for… a number of reasons.

That doesn't sound like a smaller project,
>>
>>14570414

Mikandi actually posted about the effectiveness of their 4chan ads thus far
>the first run got a lot of attention. 0.18 ctr, 760 clicks, 422k impressions. Google analytics said 460 clicks. No backers tho

It's a hundred bux for 400k impressions. Pretty cheap, but not very effective.

Mangagamer did run evangile and eden ads in the past though.
>>
>>14567498

Why are the infinity titles not on steam yet anyway. they would be popular.

they must of made a shit ton of money on clannad, its sold because of its name.
>>
steins gate and chaos head seems not to be on too yet, huh thought that would make money.
>>
>>14571000
Marketing for G-senjou was garbage.

They had no announced date until 17 hours before it came out.

The 20 dollars for voices thing also pissed people off.

Clannad had a lot more advertisement and press coverage and was already famous.
>>
>>14571000
G-Senjou's release got a lot of poor word of mouth because they badly cropped the CGs and tried to hide it in a comically inept fashion. The Infinity titles are a licensing issue. And yeah, Clannad sold 11k units at $42 or more in a month, it's doing really well.

Who re-translated it? I remember it was actually not bad, just maybe not editied perfect.

Yeah, im not fucking playing that, its sad because I like mystery and they really do have story but the horror is not even horror, I read stephen king and its is just plain gore. Im guessing 2 left off at a cliff hanger, again? how? Was 2 good I mean who is he chasing at this point? actually dont say maybe say if they are actually needed and it turned into a huge trilogy. Im guessing we are getting 3? Sadly these games actually come out really close too release and whoever translates them is really good.

They didnt poach root double, they hired them to fucking work on it. They started it and skipped 12riven because of it.

>>
>>14574000
You are making random shit up to fit your own inner narrative based on your own admitted ignorance. You constantly complain about not knowing what's going on, but are here saying that you know better than anybody about what's going on. Go back to whatever dark corner of the internet you come from.
>>
>>14574000
If they hired them to work on it, then why is part of their kickstarter buying the translation off of them?
>>
>>14574093
Sekai is just using the kickstarter to get their investment back.
>>
>>14574127
Right, so your assumptions are that Sekai paid them to do what they were already doing, and is now lying about it, and the translators wouldn't have translated the game they were already working on except for Sekai promising to pay them later.
>>
>>14574136
They were working on 12riven before, not Root Double. They dropped the 12riven project to translate Root Double for Sekai.
>>
>>14574152
This is not true. Why do you think this is true?
>>
>>14574152
>There may also be some of you who might be concerned that this will get in the way of our other projects. I can assure you this will not be the case. Though we are currently working on Killer Queen, we will still be finishing our translations of I/O and 12Riven first. Root Double, on the other hand, depends on whether or not Xtend (the PS3 version) gets a PC port, so our project of that is essentially on hiatus while we wait for news. The longest we’ll wait is two years at maximum. If there’s still no sign of a port by then, then we’ll translate the original PC version (and possibly see if there’s a way to include the content from Xtend). That said though, when that time comes or if Root Double Xtend does indeed get a PC version, that will come first regardless of what we were doing at the time.

In your world, literally everybody is lying about what they were doing, when they were doing it, and their motivations for doing it.
>>
>>14574185
It's a sane assumption. You can't trust anyone on the internet, especially if money or fame (even imagined) are involved in any form.
>>
>>14574185
Didn't they take down their other translations as part of the deal? If they release anything else they were working on, it will likely be officially.
>>
>>14574185
>>14574053
>>14574093

Well they did fucking remove all their translations from their page, so yeah they were hired by sekai who got the rights to sell I/0 and root double and got rid of the others just in case they could make a deal. So if you ask me they stopped 12riven, made a kick starter to make money and show that people want it, then sell the project on steam.
Its not really fucking that hard to think about.
Does it matter? not really because the team is really good and they are fast. the only problem is now we cant get 12riven unless a deal is made, im not sure if its the same company who made root double and I/0.

The 600ish sales bracket isn't a failure or anything, it's slightly better than breaking even. I could see mangagamer doing kns3 if they still have ties to IG despite that flowers cucking, particularly if maria really wants to do it(since having a willing translator, an available license, and a title that is likely to break even at least trumps just about all other factors).
>>
>>14574445
Each sequel is selling less, so it's really not likely to break even. And you're assuming that they have infinite resources when they obviously don't. If the choice is between 2-3 nukige or shitty little Steam doujin things that are all going practically guaranteed to make a profit, or one sequel to a game that barely broke even, both taking the same amount of total translation effort, they're going with the former every time.

They're not doing Shin Koihime either, despite knowing that'd easily sell double what KnS or Gahkthun did (eventually). The effort is not worth the cost and HOPEFULLY breaking even, not even being confident of that, is a poor aim for a business.
>>
>>14574445
>it's slightly better than breaking even
It would more sense to license a game that has an all-ages version that could be put on Steam. KnS3 isn't happening for the foreseeable future anyway, since IG doesn't plan to focus on it until Flowers is done.
>>
>>14574460
>Each sequel is selling less

Cartagra isn't a sequel and KnS2 sold more than it.

>And you're assuming that they have infinite resources when they obviously don't

They don't have infinite resources, but the resources they do have make their choices independently. As I said, if maria wants to do it, it'll probably happen. Evospace doesn't just dictate what titles everyone works on, they all more or less pick from what's available and they can make an argument for. It's the sole benefit to working for such shit pay.
>>
>>14574445
>The 600ish sales bracket isn't a failure or anything,
Considering it was reviewed on Kotaku?
600ish sales is a total failure. Just imagine KnS2 sales if it wasn't reviewed on Kotaku.

>>14574952
Occasionally (see the voices in WAS), but it's pretty rare. He prefers to dance around the truth as much as possible, like
>Are you releasing the adult version of Grisaia?
>Sekai Project will be releasing the full version of Grisaia that was released in Japan without any cuts.
or
>The trial version was full of errors. Are those going to be fixed in the final version?
>We have brought on additional translation resources to ensure that we're releasing a high quality product.
or
>Do you need to do a Kickstarter for this mostly completed project?
>We have calculated the monetary requirements for this project and believe them to be an accurate sum for what it takes to localize and release a game that the fans want.
or
>Are you using the fan translation?
>The fan translation will not be released. We have many people going over the script and will be accepting translation assets from an outside source to assist in our effort.

It's only when he's backed into a corner that he lies and then a month later pins it on the Japanese devs.

I've checked VNDB, but sorting through the wealth of tags and VN they have is a little daunting.

Can anyone help me fill out the list I'm making of translated VN with actual "gameplay" to them?

1) Rance 1-Kichikuou + Sengoku
2) Big Bang Age
3) Bunny Black
4) Widenyo
5) Dungeons & Dolls
6) Slash! Thrust! Burn!
7) Toushin Toushi 1+2
8) Kaeru nyo Panyo~n
9) Little Princess
10) Mamatoto
11) Eiyuu Senki
12) Girlish Grimoire Littlewitch Romanesque
13) Tears to Tiara 1+2
14) Kingdom
15) Most of the Monstergirl Quest series
16) Galaxy Angel series
17) Castle Fantasia
18) Utawarerumono
19) Kamidori Alchemy Meister
20) Sakura Taisen 5
21) Eien no Aselia
22) Gadget Trial
23) Piece of Wonder
24) Princess Waltz
25) Boob Wars
26) Muv-Love Alternative
27) Sunrider
28) Yumina the Ethereal
29) Shikkoku no Sharnoth -What a Beautiful Tomorrow-
30) Koihime † Musou 1
31) Muv-Luv Alternative Chronicles Vol.1
32) Lightning Warrior Raidy 1-3
33) Kagura Douchuuki
34) Violated Hero 1-3
35) Men at Work
36) Brave Soul
37) Words Worth (The translation for this is MIA)
38) Fortuna (Same as above)
>>
>>14575379
And any news of upcoming translation projects about these same kinds of games would be great as well. I know Beat Blades Haruka falls into this category, but I'm not sure about anything else.

Words Worth isn't translated, not even by Fuwanovel/Cudder standards.

>>

>>
>>14575455
It wasn't a translation. It was a disaster.

>>14575455
Words Worth is very much a disaster tl wise. Same with Rance 1, and how does Muv-Luv Alternative have gameplay?
You have the wrong Castle Fantasia game listed, the 2nd one is translated, the first isn't.

Actually(and I'm going to regret posting this) here;s a list of all the gameplay h games I've played from my blog. Look through the list and decide what is a vn and what isn't. Oh, and also of note for the sonicomi preorder, there's a super special edition with a mousepad and fig. That's not anything too noteworthy on it's own, but given that the mousepad is never-before-produced and includes such a pricehike, I suspect jast/pcr is making it on their own. That means mangagamer could conceivably do mousepads aswell for titles that warrant it(since mangagamer is still using PCR which is jast)

I would say everything would be better if they did have a translator. But I guess the one positive thing localization has ever given us, was demosaic art.

If they fixed that law (or just went with the comic book approach of just a tiny bar on top) they could really run the entire business from home.

Maybe Lemnisca will translate a ton of other good vns after this with other companies. How about Chaos;Child and Robotics;Notes. Hopefully we do get 12riven.

I doubt MG could get Liarsoft to make content to fill in the missing scenes either.

It sucks, because I want the fandisc and extra sales through Steam would make that alot more likely to happen.

I hope that if I win anything that it's not a copy of Huniepop.

root double sure is funding can't wait for it to crash and burn

I wonder what the PR department was thinking with that giveaway based on polls. You won't get "best 2015" you'll get "most expensive game people haven't bought yet 2015".

Had they had their forums up, I believe people would have pointed that out. Their forums seem to be invaluable as a common sense filter for their PR department.

Still amazed they made an all-ages single character wallscroll when they could have taken the two or three highest ranked characters in an ecchi scene. I hope they noticed I bought it so they would release more wallscrolls with better content, but it is hard to tell if they understand we buy crap to get good things.

Don't celebrate just yet. Narcissu was looking like might fail there for awhile. And I'm sure that if Root Double looks like it's in trouble that several thousand dollar pledges will mysteriously appear to push it over the finish line. The same thing happened toward the end of the Narcissu kickstarter as well.

It's well on track to meet its initial goal. I don't think anyone is going to weep because they're not getting the drama CDs.

The $1,000 tier and above are a joke. The only things the $1,000 tier has that the $225 doesn't are a signed copy of the game and the fanbook, which will only be given if the stretch goal is hit and even then you can get one as an add-on for $30. These tiers only exist in case Sekai needs to bail this KS out.

Well, it's no surprise. I can kind of understand that some people would be willing to part with that much money if it gave them a tangible benefit in the long term (for example, e-penis bragging rights in Star Citizen [if it ever comes out, lol]), but there's no way in hell anyone unaffiliated with the project would be donating $1000 to a random japanese game translation.

Root Double's goal is $135,000, but your observation stands.
>>
>>14584111
Oops.

Kickstarter Goals:

Grisaia Trilogy - $160,000
CLANNAD - $140,000
Root Double - $135,000

Hmmmm...

I don't know, man. I make roughly $1850 a month and I backed for $150 (+$10 shipping) even though I barely care for physical goods and the only benefit over the $100 tier is a poster. I backed because Ever17 and Remember11 are my favorite stories ever and I want to support Nakazawa, and I absolutely want this kickstarter to succeed (though it probably will even without me backing for this much). I don't find it hard to imagine that someone making several times as much money would back the $1000 tier for the same reasons.

Okay, so you're above average middle class in income. Maybe even upper middle class in some regions. Now, imagine someone made ten times as much as you per month. That's already elite income class, bankster or mobster or something along the line. Why exactly would THEY back something like a VN translation when they could be busy getting sucked off by 1a prostitutes for half the money? Or just hire a Japanese student to translate it for them in their leisure time.

It's just inconceivable for me.

>22k salary
>average middle class

Uh

So, you're saying he makes 1.8k per month before taxes? In that case, he'd hardly spend his money on shit, right?
>>
Sekai Project isn't a startup company or indie developers.
Why do they insist on using Kickstarter and crowd funding?
>>
>>14584319
Because idiots here and on reddit keep funding them. Though, I wonder why kickstarter hasn't been notified that SP is using them as a preorder store.

It's after taxes. After rent, insurance and other bills I have roughly $1000 left to spend on groceries and stuff I like. My income is average for a programmer straight out of college where I live.
