Don't worry folks, there's worse out there than Sekai Project.

That said, this show is actually very good, so that just goes to show you that the quality of a translation is irrelevant. If the original work is good, its quality will shine through no matter how it is translated. As it does for FSN.

Assuming mangagamer is going to repeat what they did last year, mangagamer's gonna have a moeday sale coming up this week. If you're looking to buy one of their older games, you might wanna wait.

...But if you don't, or decide to preorder kns2 or something, as always, post order numbers if you got em.

They need to port it, beta test it, and apply fixes from the beta. I feel sorry for anyone waiting to play this game. I wonder if MG would've bothered licensing it if they released just how long it would actually take to do, since their initial release estimate is already out the window by a long shot.

It's the preorders for 2 games and the launch sales of 2 other games. Though the numbers do seem high even for that.
>>
>>14180500

There's still a lot of leftover bundle keys creating noise in the order numbers. People giving out the ones they didn't want to friends , cashing in the codes late and such.

However, there is one thing interesting that has happened. I(the guy posting those) expected the order number growth to simmer down as the amount of codes from the bundles started to run out, but from the last
>93063
to
>>14179107
instead, growth has remained fairly steady.

Part of it can be attributed to mangagamer currently having KNS and GGN on preorder, but I think something surprising is that OELVN, The Menagerie.

That came out two days ago, and it's immediately shot to the top of the weekly chart, beating out all the bundle codes floating around.

I would wager that it's what's driving current order number growth. Either it's selling very well, or they had some sort of kickstarter and handed out a thousand codes or something.
>>
>>14180557
>or they had some sort of kickstarter and handed out a thousand codes or something.
It's an 18+ only vn with futa, so no kickstarter keys. I've heard they gave out some review keys, but I doubt it's that many.

I think they said that after this clusterfuck, they'll consider assembling beta test groups in the future. Source for all of this information: "Tim" on their forums, who seems to be involved managerially with JAST and is one of two full-time employees, and is also their lone tester.

As soon as clockup finishes the scripting. Mangagamer seems to think it'll be done before the end of the year. I think it'll probably be a christmas release or maybe slip into january.

When shit is out of mangagamer's hands it when it goes slowwwwww.

That reminds me. Hey you faggot, you know who you are. Remember when you argued with me that euphoria was going to be out before KnS2 and I told you there was no way that was going to happen, since doddler can actually get a port done in the time it takes a japanese company to insert a script?

Yeesh, it's like none of you read KiritoCy's post.

>well excuse my English if they are bad on it or any mistakes cause i didn't double-check anything yet but i would fix everything eventually

As you can see, he'll fix everything eventually, so essentially this means there are not actually any errors in the translation.
>>
>>14184798

I said the 1st and 3rd were okay-ish. The first line actually is okay enough, but it's such a simple sentence you'd have to be an idiot to mess it up. The second makes literally no sense whatsoever. The third is okay, I can still see what it means, though it's worded like crap. The fourth is worded in a way that you have to look at it for a good second before realizing what the fuck it means.
Then factor in that if there were that many problems with only 4 sample lines, imagine what the whole thing would be like trying to edit, aka a lot of fun.

Sekai Project is such a joke. Why developers keep entrusting their IP to these clowns?
>>
>>14186789
Because they're desperate and Sekai Project gives them the most money for the least work. You'll notice no legitimate dev sticks with SP for long.
>>
>>14186822
> Sekai Project gives them the most money for the least work.
Except Witch Boy, which Sekai can't hardly get any press coverage for. The developers are actively looking for places to hype the kickstarter, and they seem to be putting way more effort into it than Sekai is. With 12 days to go, they're still over $40,000 away from reaching their goal.
>>
>>14187276

They got plenty of coverage from the usual sites early on. The campaign's just poorly designed and they didn't bother doing any actual promotional work until almost half way through the campaign when the devs themselves stepped in.
>>
>>14187302
Looks like they're planning to add more rewards.
>Regarding the shikishi, we cannot offer one, due to the original artist not being with Rosemary House anymore, however, we do have some postcards with a shikishi feel which were only originally available with the game as a bonus. We'll be posting up more rewards this week...please look forward to it!

>>14187337

To little too late. They can't realistically salvage the campaign at this point.
>>
>>14187343

Sure it can, they just need every single backer to increase their pledge to a thousand bucks
>>
>>14188031
They currently have 456 backers, so they'd all have to pledge at least $125 for Witch Boy to happen. Over half the backers are in the early bird tier to get a discounted copy of the game for $10, so I doubt they'd be willing to spend that much.

Look at Witch Boy and think about it a bit. Would any company have picked it up besides Sekai Project? No. This is legitimately the best they're going to get. And even still, it's shit.

So yes, Sekai Project is the only way they have any chance of making money. But they're not, because they had no chance to begin with.

With few exceptions MG has stated that existing fan TLs (no matter how awful) make a VN less likely to sell well, so it makes it less likely to be licensed. If this guy completes the translation and releases it, that might just kill the chances of it getting licensed.

Also, if trap protagonist games sold well for MG, then I think that Otoboku 2 would've been licensed already.

What's this about Mangagamer possibly picking up Daiteikoku in the near future?

And did they ever fix the gameplay issues this game had? Because it was one of the best concepts in eroge history fucked up by shitty gameplay.
>>
>>14189337
There's no talk of that because it's not going to happen, ever. The script's longer than Shin Koihime Musou, the game itself is shit (no the problems were never fixed, they just patched out save scumming as a core game mechanic), and its reputation is garbage.
>>
>>14189283
"There is nothing new under the sun." From the Bible.
>>
>>14189343

That's just sad really. It could've been the best Alice Soft game ever made. And characters are popular enough to get figs and manga.
>>
>>14189351
Between that and the non-magnum version of rance quest, alicesoft's reputation took a huge hit. Luckily they seem to be recuperating.
>>
>>14189359

The best thing they could do is a Daiteikoku remake. I still remember how hyped people were for this game. It completely overshadowed Rance hype.
>>
>>14189359
And Toushin Toushi 3.

And Shaman's Sanctuary.

2008-2012, Alicesoft was absolute shit. Granted, they were having all kinds of reorgs and Daiteikoku was a boondoggle and a half that was supposed to be an RTS that they fucked up royally, but still.

Now they just fund themselves on shitting out remakes because only the Rance series has been profitable, which is the same direction Eushully is fast headed in.
>>
>>14189370

They will soon run out of Rance to remake. And final Rance game is coming.
>>
>>14189370
They've made 3 non remake games in between the last two remakes they've made.

>>
>>14189343
>and its reputation is garbage

Was it really that bad? I remember the actual game part being kind of horrible, but that's quite normal for H-games really.

It felt more like wasted potential the game.
>>
>>14189393
They're not just remaking Rance. They're remaking everything.

And they want to do a re-remake of Rance 2, because the first time wasn't remakey enough.
>>
>>14189394
Yes, it is shit. It's obvious that it wasn't tested at all (see save scumming and all the other gameplay issues), and that it was originally intended to be played through with a bunch of different routes with each faction being main in them. Instead, they ended up mashing them all together, so you have tons of 30 minutes of cutscenes between turns about things happening across the map that have no effect on you or what you're doing.

The writing is also just kind of bad. It's something in desperate need of an editor to straight up cut out at least 25% of the text because with all the programming delays, the writers just kept writing and they threw literally fucking everything in.
>>
>>14189395

So all the Dai games will be getting remakes too?
>>
>>14189409
That's where the smart money is, but especially Daiakuji which is fucked up as shit on modern systems, was really popular back in the day, is about the same age as Escalayer which just got a remake, and still has all kinds of random cameo shit in their current games. Daibanchou was popular enough too, although not to the same degree, but Alicesoft seems to have disavowed it almost entirely and it still runs on Windows 7/8/10 without problems.
>>
>>14189407

It just looks like they wanted to make something amazing and it turned out to be too much for them.

If they fixed the gameplay issues and every main faction was playable it could be a dream game.
>>
>>14189422
Not really. The writing would still be terrible and the protagonist complete shit. It'd be passable, but it still wouldn't have been a good game.
>>
>>14189413
We don't need Daibanchou anyway since it has a fan, uh, "translation."
>>
>>14189432

Protagonist is shit because you are forced to play Japan. Playing as not-McArthur, Retia or Catherine would be amazing.
>>
Apparently MangaGamer's translating Evenicle.
>>
>>14189454
Alicesoft's not going to be giving MG jack shit unless Haruka does well, and what they give them will almost certainly be Escalayer because when something works, you release the same fucking thing, not go for something completely different.
>>

There is no evidence of any plans to remake the Dai games.

Their next two games will be nukiges (firstly from the Oyako Rankan guy and then probably another beat blades type game).

And Rance X in 2017.

I do wonder if they might get Rance 04 out before Rance X. They'll also probably work on an Evenicle II

Seems dumb. Sounds like he was just scared of the cops going after him or something. Although I do think this would totally be a good idea for a Steam game. Wonder if there's an uncensor patch out there, if it's just images and sounds.
>>
>>14189597
I would rather not have someone give up in the middle of going down on me. They need to finish the job or I'll be left unsatisfied.
>>
>>14189607
The initial patch itself doesn't even seem to be out there, let alone an uncensor.
>>
>>14189570
They didn't do Toushin Toshi DS

Image Pooch just bought the rights to remake it from them.
Apart from that Alicesoft had no involvement.

They did remake Escalayer though.

So their last 5 actual games are

Rance 03 (Remake) - August 2015 - The remake sets up a lot of necessary things for Rance X.

Evenicle (New Title) - April 2015 - Will have sequels

Blade Briders (New Title) - October 2014

Escalayer Reboot (Remake) - July 2014

Rance IX (New Title) - April 2014

So two remakes out of the last 5 games, one which is a remake of a quarter century old game that needs a remake to help prepare stuff for the series finale.

Their next game is confirmed to be an original title nukige and the game after that will probably be a nukige
>>
>>14189590
So what team is going to be working on the Dai games?

Remaking Escalayer is a lot easier than remaking one of the Dai games.

Unless you just want a graphic update which the Dai games don't need.

It's certainly not something they will tackle whilst doing Rance X given how massive a project Rance X will be.

At the start of the year they said they had four projects that would be released this year (two have been pushed back).

One was Evenicle
One was Rance 03
The next one is a nukige by the Oyako Rankan guy.
The one after that is getting worked on by the guy who did Haruka and Escalayer.

And they are working on Rance X which was planned for 2016 but will almost certainly get pushed back.

Evenicle team is most likely to work on Evenicle II which has plenty of hints about.

Rance 03 team is most likely going to work on Rance 04 then Rance 02 (or the other way around). This will probably end the remakes of the Rance games for the immediate future.

So there isn't anyone who can work on the Dai games at the moment.
>>
>>14189666
You are drastically overestimating the amount of remaking that went into Escalayer.
>>
>>14189666
50% of their remakes so far HAVE been almost entirely just graphical updates. I don't know why you think that they're going to change that and start rebuilding every single game from the ground up.
>>
>>14189671
I'm not.

In fact I'm saying it's really easy so can't be compared to remaking the Dai games at all.
>>
>>14189682
Because with the exception of the Rance 2 'remake' which was just part of a compilation disc - 100% remakes of their non nukige remakes have been complete remakes.

Which the Dai games don't need.

There is no evidence whatsoever that there is any plans to remake the Dai games any time soon. And in fact everything suggests that at best they won't work on another Dai game until after Rance X is released

Unlike these brainless grindfests, Daiteikoku actually required you to think in advance and plan ahead for many many turns or it would fuck you hard. And since there's no randomness, you couldn't overturn bad planning with lucky roll. I bet they also think chess is bad and "save-scumming" (whatever that means for game that doesn't do RNG rolls).

After this kickstarter fails don't be surprised if you see dovac spreading bullshit about how the BL market isn't worth going for.
I'm not even a fan of the genre but I have no doubt that a market for it exists. NTY sold extremely well for MG.

Dovac can just blame his own lack of knowledge about what the fans of the genre want, asking fucking 35k for the translation (which is utterly unjustifiable), lack of higher tiers (which is the reason why they get so much money on kickstarter) and lack of attention he have to this kickstarter.
