Is it because only their genre interests you, necause I find it highly unlikely that you can't find any other enjoyable read from Russia

>probably one of my favorite ones, better than any non-slavic european language imo
It is only worthwhile to underestimate modern classical music, up til a certain point. Austria has as enviable set of composers as Russia does. Not just Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Mahler, the usual Up until Schoenberg, because after him, everything went to shit

I like to separate Russian and other European classical music (Balkan composers joined with Russians) because the Russian tone is richer and more resonant. Since the eastern classical misic is directly and undeniably tied to liturgical music. European one also developed from thr music theory behind church doors, but due to religious intellectual changes it bexame more "civilian" and transitioned to using folk melodies more quickly, so other Europeans get this lighter tone, related to the instruments used by the folk players and solo entertainers ...as opposed to the previously mentioned rich, liturgical tone in Easterners inherited from grave church music

We need eastern classical music with Serbo-Croatian language. That Russian bljak of a language is too mushy. Unironically Bulgarian is the purest of all slav languages if you deduct the loan words from Turkish. Serbo-croat is like a more cute version, like Swiss is to German, you understand like half of it, something not at all and something is 1:1 the same. It's German but then not really German but there can be only one real German. Polish to me is alien slavic and russian I don't like the pronouncation, sounds gayish (no offense). Macedonian is imo what the Yugoslav language would be if BG had joined 1945.
>>
>>61584726

Are you literature student?

>>61584972
While historically Bulgarian used to be the first significant written Slavonic language, it has been reformed a couple of times and is very different now from what it was a thousand years ago.
>>
>>61584972
i can pretty much understand serbocroat 90%, bulgarian 85% (probably would be reversed if i lived near BG border), slovene 65%, czech/polish/slovak 10% sounds weird af, russian/ukranian 15-20 I suppose if read

To a non-Slav, Serbo-Croat is like a cute version of Russian which sounds less constipated and likes to use shorter words (while Russians have the German disease in that aspect).

Also, Yugo has some definite "Mediterranean" quality. Look at the women, it's like someone mixed some Italians into a Slavic/ Greco-Slavic lot.

I respect Bulgarian for its ties to Old Church Slavonic.

I wish I could study Slavistics professionally.

You dropped it because nasal vowels became denasalised and certain inflection endings started to merge with each other. The mergers made the case system unproductive so it was eventually dropped altogether, then you developed a system of definite articles, which is common among indo-european languages that have lost their case system.

Because of your lacking case system the language just looks really weird. It looks like a foreigner who's trying to write slavic but has no idea how the grammar works.

Definite articles in Bulgarian are suffixed.

music - мyзикa
the music - мyзикaтa
iirc.

The "the" or -тa ending symbolises definiteness. It's quite uncommon for a slavic language to have this feature. Only Bulgarian and Macedonian has it.

Definitely article: "-ta/to" suffixes

"Deca" - "kids" (indefinite)
"Decata" - "the kids" (definite)

Thr Romance "el/la/los/las" or thr Romanian "ul" ("roman" means "Romanian" and "romanul" means "the Romanian") for example, is marked definiteness (the nouns acfompanying it is precised by the speaker". Cases (nominative, Genitive, darove nd so on, varyig language to language) allow for a speaker to make a precise statements employing them, because cases answer and fit to certainly questions

No, but what you have with definiteness, we make up with 7 cases. With your three genders ans definite/indefinite "declensions", I'd say yours is baby tier

As the Norwefian flag above mentioned:
"Muzika" and "muzikata"

Serbo-Croatian:
Sing. Muzika, Muzike, Muzici, Muzika, Muziko, Muzici, Muzikom
Plural. Muzike, Muzika, Muzikama, Muzike, Muzike, Muzikama, Muzikama

Even those that are the same difference actually, because you csn use them only wih certain prepositions ("u, na, po, pod, pri, prema, kroz, za, o" and so on)

That is what I don't understand. There are 7 million Albos in the world. About half of them actually live in Albania, the rest is diaspora. To compare: Belgium has 10 million inhabitants. Their mafia is one of the most notorious, they fill the jails of their neighbouring countries and the West, and they still live by kanun law, which basically causes them to stab each other on a regular basis over almost nothing.

Yet they keep coming, they keep multiplying, they keep stabbing. When does this end (its natural course)?

Russian:
Oн дaл книгy чeлoвeкy

Bulgarian:
Toй дaдe нa чoвeкa книгa
In Russian this would literally be "Oн дaл нa чeлoвeкa книгa"

In Bulgarian you could add articles though.
e.g. Toй дaдe нa чoвeкa книгaтa
("He gave the man the book" as opposed to "He gave the man a book")

When you decline, you also need to watch out about the five most used rules of assimilation. I won't go into detail, not to bother you

That's why reading and replicating Bulgarian is easier for me. The only thing I really struggle with is your use of the interrogative particle "li", the "щe" and the flow (yours sounds more of a seljak version, no offence). For me, it looks like abused. We only use it once

Formula: Verb + li + (adjective) + noun
Example: "Piješ li mutnu vodu"/"Пијeш ли мyтнy вoдy?"/"Are you drinking muddy/unclean water?"

And I've seen you use that "li" two or more times
