Marx barely wrote anything about culture and the first concept of marxism is that matter prevales over ideas and culture is defined by geography and economy of the place. Have you ignored my message? Of course any sane Marxist would stand against oppression but for absolutely different reasons and in absolutely different way than liberal. He would do it to diminish any struggle except the real one, i.e. class struggle, as much as possible, because national, racial, religious etc grudges are used easily as the tool to fool people by capital. And Stalin himself dismissed ideas of creating socialist parties on a national basis because such a parties are just nationalist in the core and lose their socialism very soon, he showed it on an example of Jewish socialist party Bund or Austro-Hungary socialists.
The main point of being Marxist is to stay for public property on means of production and other things from Manifesto. There are barely any communist parties in the West.
