General day-to-day life didn't really take much getting-used-to for me. If I ever encountered any difficulties (usually due to the fact that I hadn't lived on my own prior to moving), the folks around town were more than willing to help me through it. There's definitely more of a sense of community here than where I'm from (the US) which can be good (many kind and helpful neighbors) and bad (news travels VERY fast and people are always watching - especially if you stick out like a sore thumb). It's also much more pedestrian-friendly which makes things a heck of a lot easier for me.
