I wanted to draw a graphic novel, sort of as a summer project, to pass the time, but have never done one before.
I wanted to ask you for any tips, what the theme or story line could be, and what types of books/ paper would you recommend?
Post anything you made!

Learn about paneling first and foremost.

Story and themes are completely open ended. Do whatever you want to write about.

Read Scott McCloud's Making Comics and make notes on what you like to look at in the comics you like. I'd suggest you start with short comics before jumping into a graphic novel, but do whatever you want, honestly. There isn't "one way" to start comics.
