What do you do to advertise your commissions?
Use every form of social media you got?
Join groups created for ad purposes?
Use only art websites to advertise?
Let random people find you and ask without actually advertising?

Also, what are your prices and about how much would you say you make a month doing commissions?

{That's not my commissions page btw}
-Thanks
>>
Oh. And if you have a commission page like this. Please post it. I like looking at everyone's setups.

They could easily add $5 to sketch, $5. To live cost and then $10 to the colour ones.

Anyways I don't do commissions because I'm a shit
>>
People charge way too little for commissions, no wonder artists don't make any money

Just wait till kids in India and Singapore learn the cheap illustration gimmicks some "one-trick-pony"s and "never-get-better"s use, and flood every avenue with 5 cent/hour commission offers, the way freelance IT/web-development sites are flooded now.

3rd world asian artists rarely do commissions and shit. They all draw 12 hours a day and get good enough to work for actual clients for a proper salary.
>>

Yeah, but the problem is also that the have a mcdonald's style menu, when in reality the prices depend on a lot of other things, especially if they're for a company vs an individual.

for OP, yes you just post it everywhere. If you want to do personal commissions, you need to have a huge fanbase, otherwise you need connections (other artists, art directors, studio employees)

>$5

Jesus Christ, it always pains me to see something like that. Are your hard earned artistic abilities less valuable than a hamburger from a fast food restaurant (I mean, holistically speaking food in general is more valuable, but work with me here)? Linework takes a long time too. If you're an artist, do us all a favor and don't move your ass for less than $10 ffs, and consider what a fair hourly rate is for anything that might take anywhere near that long-or longer. Don't be a pussy.

Don't mix "go rape your cousin after you shit in the street" Asian with "you succeed or you are disowned" Asian. (Even though technically they both shit in the street)

I was irritated by the prices of the first sketches too and after looking at their devart it looks like they raised the prices to better fit time spent.

The prices in Op's image are far too little, you've got to value yourself more than that.

As for me I hope I can start commissioning soon but I've never even had an art blog. I'm sure I will have a fun time pandering and sucking lotsa dick. Please, can more people post with their commission pages, it's very helpful.

Sooo I'm guessing $5 is pretty cheap. Too cheap.
I didn't know. I thought it was kind of standard. I see this sort of pricing everywhere I go. Sometimes $1 for a sim0le sketch. Well, now I know that's not normal, I can price mine right.

Thanks guys.

You have to set up your prices based on the amount of time they take to make, which is something you should know. Have an hourly rate and just work everything based off that.
>>
Bumping, does anyone want to share? You will be free of judgement I promise...

>Rendered is 66% more expensive then simple color
>has 3 random brush strokes more
>looks worse because of inconsistency

every time
>>
When I see the word render I don't expect or likes to see lines.
>>
>Master Vilppu suggests I setup my commission prices based on the cost of my training*time
>No one spends triple digits on fanart except lead comic book cover artists like Artgerm or Adam Hughes
>No one wants to even spend double digits on a decent drawing or sketch
>Have no interest on producing smut

Can't wait until I get a job so I don't have to worry about OPs questions anymore.

If you're a good artist, charge more. Basically as simple as that. Deviant art is flooded with talentless shitters who can't charge more than 1$/sketch. Then they get slightly better and still use gutter prices like the one OP linked. So basically the whole commissions market is shit, unless you're good enough that people really want something specifically from you.

It's always seemed to me to be much much more lucrative to produce a product (comic book, children's book, graphic novel, pin-up calendar, porn shit, w/e) and sell it cheap to as many people as possible, than to do commissions of any kind.
