No, most of the people who draw the popular and trendy shit just have popular and trendy taste. So while their art might be decent, it's almost guaranteed that they are as obnoxious as the fans they attract. Even when they try to pretend they aren't on the surface. My only beef with fan-art is that it gives fan-artists a false sense of accomplishment, bloating their egos, since they are using someone else's IP and creativity to get them any attention. So they end up thinking they deserve more respect than they really do as creatives.

So then what is your point? Because the original claim was that most anime panders to teens, which isn't false given most main cast characters in anime tend to be teenagers. And if it's not marketed to teens, it's to otaku via the female cast members. Very little anime is marketed to any other demographic. Toonami is a prime example of this; in recent memory, Dimension W would be considered seinen and it was god awful from beginning to end. This is why classic looney toons is still funny and fun to watch even for older audience because now we can catch the adult humor.
