I'm trying to follow the sticky and draw pic related, but I never feel I'm getting the pencil strokes right. The lines are either too short or too long. Any advice?

Without being too blunt, just do it. The lines aren't the focus of the exercise. I mean this as nicely as possible.

But how and when will I know when I have it being drawn properly and not too big or not too small?

Once you flip it upside down. You're not supposed to get it right in one try, you need to try, fail, revise, learn from your mistakes then try again. Do it 2 or 3 times.

OK, I'll do it as many times as it takes
