Question.

Are classes worth it? With all the internet open to me, is it really worth spending money on classes.
>>
>>2551392
Depends on the class, the teacher, what you want to learn, what level you are at, and how much work you put into the class. The answer can be anywhere from "yes, it is worth every penny" to "it's a waste of time and money and actually built in bad habits".

Depends on you, nigger.

It's the same as asking "is buying all the premium content of Proko/Anything else worth it?"

Most people here are self taught.

IMO as long as classes aren't shit, worths the sheckels.

I don't know.
>>

Depends

For me, my dream is to get an associate's and then move out to california to attend to calarts. The money for classes is absolutely worth it just for the connections.

If you want to be an illustrator classes are still worth it for peer critique.

If you're just doing this shit for a hobby then no, classes aren't worth it.

If you have somebody competent constantly guiding and critiquing you then that can be very helpful.

>>2551471
If you have a problem with that then gtfo please

sorry angry drawey person, I missed you there

I don't know, I think the art is that it is your life

yeah go to class, you get an easy-ish grade and it looks good, you know

people say there's nothing to it but oh dear it's very difficult

classes are great if your teacher's good and the group isn't too beig. you get professional critique and they can help you find motivation to work on your art.
i'd say worth it.

Checked
I teach and intern a couple of evening classes. The place I work at is really laid back and I think the evening classes are more relaxing than the morning/afternoon ones. You get a different crowd with every time of day too so it depends on what you want your class environment to be like I guess

Fuck off. I get calling people out when they're being edgelords and going on stormfront tirades, but people use the word nigger liberally on 4chan and always have. Stop being so triggered.

It's worth it to take classes on particular subjects that you're interested in and need to study. It's pointless to take art classes with the goal of acquiring a degree.

If you're looking for instruction on technical matters (software, hardware, etc.) then classes are a waste of time and money. Just get a lynda.com subscription and go through the videos there.

Classes are for teaching principles that you can apply to multiple situations. Tech is always changing, so don't rely on what you learn in school for that kind of stuff.
