How has art helped you to improve yourself as a person?

for the past 8 months i've been NEET, spend 95% of my time in my bedroom drawing, sleeping and masturbating, pretty afraid to leave the house. i recently started forcing myself to leave the house and do people sketching as well as some plein air. it's still hard for me to be in public spaces but it's slowly getting easier. i'm going to my first life drawing session this week too.

This looks so real, do you mind telling me what brushes you used?

Yes. I now have an outlet for my fetishes and make other deviants happy.

I've become a NEET 2 years ago because of art and I have been severely depressed most of the time since then. I have no job, I have aspergers so I can't get a normal job, but freelancing has been going very shitty as well, so I'm contemplating suicide on a daily basis.
I started to get into art about a year and a half ago and it improved my confidence in my ability to learn a skill consistently over time.
I've generally got pretty terrible willpower, so the fact I managed to stick with art for a year and a half now is motivating in the sense that I know I can build a habit, and I've done it with a few other things (like reading more books and eating better) too. And rather than just playing vidya I now have something a bit more productive and self-improving to do in my free time.
Also in regards to eating and sleeping, its improved both of those habits for me, since if I don't sleep well / eat pretty decently my patience and ability to draw drops precipitously.
I think I'm generally a healthier and more productive person as a consequence of getting into art.
I probably would've killed myself a long time ago if I didn't have drawing and painting.
Apart for my family it's the only thing that makes me stick around.
