here's a GOAT reference for handguns and revolvers.
thread is win!
why are carbines so beautiful? why are rails so beautiful?

OP, this is the "proper" handgun grip.
Two hands on the gun, thumbs up high.
Not an AK.
Oleg Volk has some great HD photos too.
Gotta have some good footage as well, nothing lets you understand how to draw guns better than some slomo.

This guy should pretty much have you covered for everything weapons-related (unless you're looking for a specific gun), he's the best weapons photographer I know of.
great stuff. thanks for this

No problem, will keep adding some more to the thread.

Maybe not the best for references. But if you ever wanted to find a gun from a movie, tv show, video game, ect.

IMFDB is a great resource, agreed.
Would also recommend checking out kafkanishian, and Forgottenweapons, on youtube.
They've got some great footage of guns of all types.
Some big guns.

Try World of Guns on steam. Hundreds of guns accurately modeled in 3D
You can even strip it down to really understand the parts.
>>2543233
This is really underrated, even among /k/omrades.
>>2546690
There were tons of threads about it a while back.

Hnnnnnng always having been issued an A2 while I was in (with one of those fancy M68 kits while deployed) I've grown to like fixed carry handle ARs.
>>2547137
Carry handles are aesthetic as fuck

Is it ok if i get into 3D and use it to render models and add them on my drawings? i'm talking about anything "hard" (weapkns and guns in general, buildings for backgrounds) and all the "soft" (characters, people, animals, clothing etc) being hand-made? i love the idea of drawng detailed guns for example but damn they are hard to draw from scratch and usually got them to look like shit.
>>2550393
no
just get good
>>2550393
Yes that is okay.
Just do as you want
>>2551138
Thanks fampai!
>>2550393
Guns aren't that hard to draw.
>>2542788
you shouldn't have the finger on the trigger by default though, right?
>>2550393
painting over 3d models looks interesting do it
>>2552708
Correct, trigger discipline is important if your drawing a character with firearms experience or training.
Take note however, trigger discipline only became a real "thing" around the 1970's, so if you're going past that, its okay to not depict it.
>>2552735
That's actually pretty good to know, thanks anon.
>>2542788
I've heard if you do that with a revolver it can blow your thumb off
>>2541991
At first glance, the lines of that gun are very appealing. But zooming in, I'm left asking how someone is supposed to use the iron sights with that ammo counter in the way, let alone maintaining cheek weld to use that RDS.
Also, why 2 barrels, and why are neither of them actually hollow?
>>2552927
Also true.
