How do I draw well with a mouse? Tablets are not an option atm.

Learn and do the fundamentals with mouse. Drawabox lesson 1 is good for learning how to control a mouse precisely. It takes longer than your pencil, but hey, why not.

Polygonal lasso tool or pen tool. Fill with paint bucket and gradients. Or just be very careful with the brush and expect shit results and carpal.

Because it's a waste of time and none of the muscle memory is transferable once you get a tablet/use a pencil?
There is literally no reason to use a mouse instead of a pencil when learning fundamentals.
OP here, just made this piece of shit in paint.net. Took me about six hours. I feel drained and incapable. Help.
