Why do amateurs always put the date and signature on their half assed shitty art?

Signature isn't necessary, but I encourage everyone to put the date at least at the back of the painting/ drawing or note it somewhere else. You'll be thankful in the future.
And while I think it's silly to sign every piece of garbage art, it is most often those who get successful who are prone to self-promote and/or act important. Modesty is great, but it won't help you get an audience/ potential clients.
