Here's how japs do it in 3d.

YES
Eyes are distorted and moved on every face from every angle differently. mouth too.
Under chin area basicly doesn't exist and is hidden by any means possible.

Anime figures are designed to look good only from right angles, often they do hide the face so you can't see it from wrong angle.
>>
>>2475343
where is this from?
>>
>>2475291
that model doesnt have a 3d nose, so they distort the eye to account for the overlap that would occur at that angle, you can think in 3d with anime, all good anime artists do.

Pretty often they are made to look good from right angles. and fair and stuff covers the wrong angles an under chin .
>>
>>2475386

Eyes are literally painted on, they look like shit at the wrong angles. Even in high quality stuff like Alter and GSC.
If you want good 3d models look for Precure ED CG instead. Then again maybe they cheat there too.

So they're adapting each angles and scenes to make the face looks good everytime.

That's interesting, but just feels like the same problem as the last Guilty Gear :
JUST FUCKING DO IT IN 2D

3D Anime will never ever look as good as 2D.
>>
>>2475391
those rules apply to normal human faces too though, the head will look weird from extreme angles and even with realistic/semi realistic styles you'll have to cheat and use artistic sense to make it look good,
the example model in those pictures is still really bad though and figures or models with much more solid facial structure will look way better

it already looks wrong even in the starting angle though.
if they wanted to do it, then there is no way such cheap put-together models could do it. they'd need to use models that have some elasticity to them. ones that can change their skull shapes if needed. think disney.
you need genuine artistic skill and a lot of effort to pull it off. again, think disney.

Something about the eyes feels a little off, or is it just me? is the overall facial structure ok?

Am I on the right path?
>>
>>2475586
That's more like a sphere than an oval. When you divide the circle into thirds, the center of the circle in the side plane will be the brow ridge, top will be the hair line, bottom will be the bottom of the nose, another third down from there will be the chin, bottom of the eyes will be in the center of the head, and between the chin and the nose will be the bottom lip. If you're distorting the face it'll look more natural to exaggerate the bottom than otherwise.
>>
>>2475545
Modern 3D animation Disney characters don't ever change their skull shape. The facial muscles around the eyebrows, mouth and nose are elastic and done with stylized exaggeration in mind, the cranium is always stationary and never changes form. That's some old 2D animation Tom & Jerry shit.

oh well, i thought they'd at least change the shape of the eye socket. i guess i was indeed thinking of older stuff. not a disneyfag here.
but my point still stands. they need to have actual 3 dimensional moving parts. not just mapped on symbols. i think it all comes down to budget
>>
Why did these threads change? It used too be anime/manga general and now there's all this other shit? Were the threads dying too fast and there was a merger?

You are on the right track. Make sure the facial features are aligned, and think of everything as a three dimensional form.Keep at it, and do studies! Emulate the people you admire, and your own style will naturally come as you improve.

at the level with are with technology, the effort doesn't justifies the benefits, true, but it's wrong to say there are no benefits for separating the skin from the bones

it gives more liberty in expression, character customization and movement

if you have the skin separated from the bones, making an elderly or fat character would be just as easy as the default one, with the bonus of each fold of skin acting on their own physics, and not of the bone's

if you can control the skin, the eyes and mouth can act more close to reality

and finality, you could even create believable expressions in strong wind, where the skin can be pushed by it, like in a rolecoaster or when in free fall

I get you're trying to make it look like a lively, "extreme" pose, but she honestly looks broken. Maybe make the hips less turned away from the rest of the body? Or make the torso point more towards the viewer, and use a bit of dank "foreshortening". Looks nice in concept though.

I'm trying to become more popular by producing content at least once a week on Tumblr, but it's just not working out. I was able to get on FA more followers in a month than I was able to in years on Tumblr, and most of those are bots anyway.

Basically, I'm moving out this autumn to attend uni (animation). My parents agreed to pay for the dorm (150 euros a month), but I need to find an income to eat and maybe even buy clothes. Honestly, I'm thinking of saying fuck it to trying to get commissions with animu/cartoon art and trying furry instead.

Flip your drawing, it has lots of problems and that should help you to see them. Everything seems deformed and to be falling on the left, which obviously isn't right.
Secondly, use references for your bodies, you'll need it. Might as well do the same for Anime faces because it looks pretty bad.
Third, use thicker lines and try to remove your chicken scratching.

What's with those deformed hairs for example? Like what the hell? Draw them in one stroke.

You seems to try to be doing detailed anime drawings, but you clearly don't know the good method and you're not at it yet to make it looks good.

There's a lot of things wrong with this, but it all stems from a lack of foundation.
If you want to improve you're going to have to go back to the basics.

Before doing any of that though, lower your brush size, it's not doing you any favors at this point in time.
It's great for someone who understands anatomy but you're not at that level yet.
All it's doing for you is making your lines more vague and hiding your mistakes from yourself, sure it might look cleaner than when you chicken scratched >>2478434 but it's basically the same thing.
The main reason why your line art isn't clean isn't because you're not used to drawing with a tablet, it's because you lack confidence, and you lack confidence because you don't understand what you're drawing.

Focus on proportions and anatomy, do figure studies http://artists.pixelovely.com/

It's also really important to practice what you learn without using reference.
First it allows you to know where you stand in your knowledge of anatomy, highlighting where you need to study more.
Second it forces you to think about what you're drawing, this really helps you understand anatomy instead of just memorizing it.

im practicing with trial and error so even though i know im bad in a lot of areas i just draw for the sake of drawing more and its hard to practice through traditional means since anime is so stylized. So things like facial structure and hair is extremely hard for me to nail considering they dont behave like actuall forms in real space

also doesnt help that im dog shit at digital i guess,i cant use tablets worth a shit. Also trying to trial and error that until i go to classes for digital drawing next year

Most of these are not "thats wrong" questions but trying to make you figure out what you are trying to do and trying to express, because right now it seems to be a big mess of poorly understood clichees.

Is she resting idly on that thing or clutching on the pole to keep from slipping down or is it one of these magic antigravity fluff scenes?
Where does her butt rest on that animal and where does her whole body weight go? Down? Forward? Center?
Is that pose supposed to be comfortable or strangling?
Where do her legs rest or why are they in that position?
Where does her right arm with the cotton candy rest or why is it in that position so far in front of her?
Why is she buckling foward?
Is she leaning on that pole or holding on it?
What has that flow of hair to do with the entire composition of the picture and her pose?

>>
>>2476473
Yes.
Filmicly, even on a camera with a very low aperture, the background robot would still be in focus, or at least the leg she's resting on, Because it comes into the plane she's at. SInce it's anime, I suggest just drawing out the entire thing, but do it in small steps, knee first, then leg, finally body, so that you can look at the big picture and see what works.
>>
>>2478574

>>
>>2479163
Noob reporting in, hmm, I think the clothes on her legs seem a bit 'flat', like they were drawn onto her legs with marker.
For example, the elastic part of her socks should be sticking out a tiny bit to make it seem like an actual article of clothing. Same goes for the shoes, as they just look like shapes that were drawn in with smaller lines in them (though if this is what you were going for, scrap everything I just said).

Nice! You are getting better at making them look actually big. Push the perspective even more tho, usually with drawing giants you want to convey a sense of being overwhelmed and pushing the perspective works wonders for that. The people in fromt should blend in a little more, especially the 2 on the left pop out too much, they are separated from the background with black outlines and the colors are stronger than the colors of your focal point which is the giant loli, that makes them stand out even more. Also like other anon said, some buildings are really half-assed(not only the towers, the little house next to her leg makes no sense either), it ruins the overall image a little.
