Wow, another bait thread!
How surprising.

Bring dedicated doesn't mean shit. It's being smart. People fucking dropped out for a year and then came back to do the same degree, and spent their gap year fucking about on blogs. They come back and they're better than every one of those "dedicated" faggots they left behind. Its easy to try hard as fuck at something and end up not getting anywhere
>>

Implying that dedicated people can't be smart ?
Stop with the profoundness.

There are douchebags in every field, just deal with them. When you graduate you're going to run into more of them. Douchebag clients, douchebag coworkers, douchebag bosses, douchbag strangers, etc. If you can't handle being around people like that, you're in for a rough time in life.

First one i think is:
Giving an appearance of direction/movement

Red writting is leading part.
>>
>>2464535
Second is something like:
Making the appearance of facial expressions.

Writting is self evident.

As much as you're probably baiting I kind of agree to an extent.

I think the attitude is kind of a reflection of how hard people feel they need to be on themselves to improve. Also, since it's a competitive job market, you hear a lot of stories of wide eyed innocent artists putting themselves out there and being devastated as they find out they're not good enough; I think a lot of people here want to harden themselves in advance to avoid that pain.

What /ic/ is lacking is balance. People here are quick to point out flaws but slow to dole out compliments. You can encourage someone without babying them, and you can critique without destroying them.

I'm just getting back on the drawing train myself after some health issues. I'm trying to push past it, but it's like I've been trained to feel nothing but negative emotions whenever I even think of drawing. A lot of decent artists have more than discipline; they have passion too.

How is one supposed to get passion if at the gate all they see is a long road of pain and frustration? I dunno, I suppose you could say that's the point: to weed out the weak, but I think that's just too harsh.
