-Peach Skin tone
+Coffee + shaving cream
=the shaving cream neutralizes the organic component of the coffee, so it wont smell & will be closer to a pigment than a drink. The shaving cream also adds white to the brownness of the coffee, making a orange-peach color.

-Charcoal stick
+stick + fire
Just burn the end of a stick.
=I personally like this more than storebought charcoal as you have more control with a "handle" stick component. Downside is you only get a handful of good lines out of one burn, but the lines are really phenomenal, especially for nature drawing. You can gather up 10 sticks, light all of the ends, get good lines out of each, then just relight the batch again.

Personally, I'm looking for:
DIY pigments
DIY Chalk
DIY Gesso
DIY Ink
DIY Paper
DIY Canvas
DIY pallette
& Good ideas for cheap bookbinding

/diy/ doesn't know shit about art

You know the whole point of the industry that makes what you wabt is to do it, cheaper faster and better with higuer quality.

I don't think a diy is going to be easy. Its going to take a hell lot of time and you are going to have less time doing art.

Anyway go to diy

And this post has shit to do with art. One search in Google will tell OP how to make pretty much everything he just listed in a myriad of ways.

You can paint with a lot of stuff. Food coloring makes for cheap watercolors if you don't mind that it's just about the farthest thing from lightfast, surprisingly saturated too.

I used to bind my own sketchbooks but I don't think it's worth the effort. Staples sells an Arc notebook system that's pretty handy, it's the same thing that Vilppu uses, I think. You can buy the rings separately along with a hole puncher and just make your own covers and use whatever kind of paper you want.

use a Carbon Pencil. Like a normal pencil, but with charcoal in it.
