best way to cure yourself of OCD and perfectionist tendencies is to draw a lot with permanent markers or other mediums that you can't erase. No underdrawings of course.

this

I'm OCD too and working mainly in pen has helped SO MUCH. Of course that's only for the early stages, and finishing touches still take forever. But getting to those finishing touches is way faster.

I've been meaning to draw one single porn piece for six months.

I already sketched it out about 30 times. Sometimes wallpaper sized, other times like a manga, a couple of times I even start coloring it.

I HAVEN'T FINISHED THIS SHIT YET TELL ME UR SECRETS!!!

my followers must have forgotten about me by now...

To git gud, you have to draw a lot of terrible drawings. Even when you got guded, you will always see room for improvement, and you will never have made a 'perfect' piece. To be a perfectionist means you want things to be perfect and obsess over it. I won't comment on ocd because I don't know much about its impacts on art creation.

By it's nature, art is an upstream battle along a river of shit and when you become a master, you haven't mastered getting RID of all the shit. You've mastered handling and making the most of it. Perfectionism is a strive for a shitless stream. In other words, you're gonna have a bad time.

Art=shitfest, perfectionism=desperately fighting against shit.

It can happen, and it does happen. A LOT of artists are perfectionists, but you're not going to be happy with your art, and it's much harder for a perfectionist to git gud because of the added mental stress. You're more likely to burnout, hate your life, and feel horribly inadequate even when you're pro level. Or, get a huge overinflated ego and skewed perception of your work (aka, you think your shit is perfect) that fucks over your personality and makes your life shit.

There's no escaping the shit. Life is shit. Use art as a tool to fight your perfectionism by drawing mountains of terrible, terrible art and learning to accept the shit.
>>
From the piece you posted, you seem to be drawing edges rather than thinking in forms; you're never gonna get something you're happy with that way. Read Fun With a Pencil.

9/11 people saying they have ocd don't even have it..

>Don't bother with grammar
>Claims to have OCD

Yea, okay. No you don't.
>>
>>2434440
there is this thing known as uneducated. You can't obsessively compel over something you don't even know. Unless being uneducated is what your OCD is active to.
Much like yourself, claiming that OCD has anything to do with grammar, showing you're uneducated towards the subject. OCD can be literally about anything, but it doesn't lock to the same general things to every person. My young niece has OCD, she will cough when she enters a new room, and will box the food on her plate into a square shape.

Do you mean that you have horriby disturbing and unwanted obsessive thoughts constantly pop into your head and then you perform compulsive behavior in order to attempt to control your thoughts and then the compulsions spawn more obsessive thoughts which spawn more compulsions which spawn more obsessions in an unending cycle of misery and self torture?

Or do you just mean you're a fussy nit-picker? Because if it's the latter then good news, you don't have OCD.

If it's the former try not to let something you love become a compulsion, it'll destroy you. Know your obsessions aren't real, it's just a bi-product of an enlarged corpus callosum. No matter how much you think it will help you control your obsessive thoughts try not to perform compulsions. It'll just end up ramping the cycle up. If you haven't had it get DBT and CBT, that'll help you deal with your obsessive thoughts in a way that won't eventually lead to a mental breakdown.

Get therapy, get meds, get help. Don't think it's something you can just barrel through on your own. You might make it to your mid 30s maybe even if you're lucky your mid 40s with untreated OCD but not past that before you'll suffer a complete mental collapse. I spent the better part of a year in a mental hospital after a complete meltdown caused by undiagnosed and untreated OCD because I didn't know that's what I had because popular media portrays OCD like it's someone who is just a perfectionist or picky or washes their hands all the time or is a neat freak when it's not that at all. Although some people's compulsions will give the impression that it is most compulsions are actually performed mentally, not physically.

Good luck to you OP. Try not to end up a broken down old has-been like I did.

>uneducated in drawing
>claims to have OCD while making art
>doesn't understand how to draw

You're only making yourself look more retarded.
>>
>>2435973
To be fair, there are degrees of it. I can suddenly realize I've been washing my face for 20 minutes, but I've never had a mental breakdown and don't expect to.
>>
>>2436004
Not him, but maybe you might want to look up what OCD actually means before embarassing yourself any further.
>>
Really good read on OCD for any psych-fags in the thread.

http://bibliomed.bib.uniud.it/utenti/63601/corpus-callosum-obsessive-compulsive

And no, just because you have a "thing" that has to be "just so" it doesn't mean you have OCD. Everyone has a "thing".
>>
>>2436023

What are the obsessive thoughts that trigger your face washing compulsion?

OCD gets worse with age and left untreated a breakdown is inevitable.
>>

That's a lot of shit.
