I'm almost sure that the artist does that on purpose for these games since he's actually capable of giving the characters good definition. He's the character design from Final Fantasy Tactics too, that's a worse case of same face syndrome

Part of the reason of the same face is because all the characters this game is from have exchangeable classes. So all the sprites look the same no matter who its supposed to be. So really it works...

That might just be because the characters are zoomed out. The in-game portraits are a lot more distinctive.

I see a lot of different face shapes there. I dunno why so many people on /ic/ have such shitty eyes that they seem to be completely unable to notice differences in facial features among stylized, pretty people. It's like you can only notice diffences in extremes, like young, soft woman vs old, chiseled man.

Do people who bash anime all the time have some kind of mental disorder that makes it impossible for them to notice subtlety in faces? Pic related is probably the only type of stylized work that won't make them cry sameface.

Well, the image in the post you replied to is also drawn by Akihiko Yoshida and they look vastly different from the people in the OP image, so clearly he can draw people outside his "masturbation zone". Are you sure you aren't just really insecure about your own lack of skill? Yoshida is an incredibly skilled artist and designer and drawing different faces is a really easy thing to do.

Not sure what everyone is bitching about, all the guys have different enough faces. Women sort of but you tend to see that a lot
