I want to start making prints for my art and selling them. I can't seem to figure out if it will be worth it to buy a good printer or have a printing company do them. Does anybody have experience in this or any advice?

Do it manually the old fashioned way with woodcuts. You'll be praised for eccentricity and trying to revive an old technique. People will buy your shit no doubt.

I work for a printing company so I do mine at cost. I do my prints on semi glossy photo paper, and use spray adhesive to mount them on foamcore. For a movie poster-sized print that you would pay $20 for, it only costs $2 worth of paper and ink. Honestly, if you're not a person who's concerned with having a "career" or "steady paycheck", try to get a job at a print shop.
