Know your niche and fill it. In the case of something like porn, draw porn that will actually get people off. When you're an erotic artist you're basically a whore, people are paying you to get them off. If you can't do that then you aren't gonna make shit for cash.
For none erotic art, you actually have to be good at drawing, or at least make your drawings look good enough that your average punter can't tell it's really shit (effects and rendering tricks, embellishments, polish that turd!). If you're making fan art for a fanbase you've got to really pander to that fanbase, so know the inside jokes, the tropes, the common fan fiction and so forth.
And even in that case you're still better off doing porn because anyone can draw pretty pictures but not anyone is shameless enough to whore themselves out. It's a supply and demand sort of thing.

$20 is pretty low for full digital painting. At your stage, you shouldn't charge less then min wage, but it depends on how long it actually takes you. I'm no pro, but you should be able to get about $10 for a sketch, maybe around $50 for a full piece.

i have DA for one year and all i have is 60 watchers it's like 0.8 watchers per submitted picture.
