Where I can buy a newsprint paper for cheap
>>2312753
Did you try an art store? Depending on the city an 18x24 pad can be anywhere from like a couple dollars to maybe 5 or so. I know some people in the US order bulk online, and some stores let you do that too. In art school I bought a box of like 50 pads or something. Nearly died carrying it a couple km to my house though, did not expect massive amounts of paper to weigh so much and be so bulky, and I didn't have a car.

>canson newsprint paper
>costs like normal paper
some of those wallpaper stores throw away that stuff, can get that stuff for free or cheap if you ask, save some money

Just buy some canson sketchpads. They are cheap and you can erase as mush as you need. Newsprint are not that good as you might think.
>>2312759
What? Newsprint is the cheapest paper there is. I looked up what it is that I bought:
https://www.currys.com/product.htm?Product=NEW1824PA&Source=Category&Category=NEWSPRINT_AND_DRAWING_PADS
It's less than two dollars per pad when you buy it in bulk, and that's Canadian dollars too. Considering you can use both side of paper in a pad that gives you 80 drawings for less than two dollars.

It's good because it's cheap and large and incredibly smooth so works well for charcoal or conte. It's mostly used for doing tons of drawings, not finely working on one image and needing to erase and correct and abuse it.

What's up with the old masters and insanely muscular women?
>>2312928
That's not an old master. And I think that was mostly the case in the Renaissance when they used male models to draw females.
>>2312928
only knew how to draw men
>>2312928
Back then, academies would bar women from being models, either for religious reasons or because they were afraid of getting the cooties. So artists only studied from male models, and were taught how to draw breasts. Look at Michelangelos sculptures of women, they're jacked men with breast tumors.
Also, because nude men could not pose in front of women at female art academies, their life drawing classes consisted of bringing in live cows to the studio to study it's anatomy.

Well, but they should know from the women they slept with that they were less muscular, so if they were drawing from imagination this is no reason to draw/sculpt them this muscular
Plus, some of these girls are muscular even for male standards, was everyone on steroids during the Renaissance?
>>2312961
People in general were more muscular since there were more physical jobs.
Also not all artists painted manly women: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7c/RokebyVenus.jpg

>artist
>slept with women
No one wants to sleep with poor fags
>>2312973
We are talking about several centuries ago, artist used to be something important during the time, and I'm sure the top tier artists were fucking rich, yet, the females still look like body builders with tits.
>>2312973
I thought you were gonna point out that Michelangelo and Leonardo were both gay.
Also sure women slept with artists. Raphael died from fucking:
"Raphael's premature death on Good Friday (April 6, 1520), which was possibly his 37th birthday, was caused by a night of excessive sex with Luti, after which he fell into a fever and, not telling his doctors that this was its cause, was given the wrong cure, which killed him."
>>2312995
that sounds sketchy. What would be the right cure for having had too much sex?

In 1520?

They had ancient sculptures of women. Citing Michelangelo's depiction of women isn't substantial because he's an anomaly.
>>2315236
Why do these asian women have denser bone structures than UFC fighters on steroids? Jesus christ I'm jealous of that chin
>>2315236
But they looks ugly on pictures

You're overthinking, it was a widespread stylistic convention at the time, like anime, that's all.
