tfw I've been learning for 4 years, still haven't had a single illustration job. Why is it so hard, should I give up and get some boring normal job?

I went to school for 4 years, didn't get any jobs till one year after that. Now it's 4 years after my schooling and I can pay maybe 75% of my expenses with art jobs. Perhaps in a couple years I will make it to full time. So yeah, it can take a while. I have a boring, normal job, but only part time.
If you're doing 'concept art', the bar for entry is even higher, and the market is super saturated, so the whole endeavor will be even harder.

It's not like ADs check /ic/ to laugh at who is a loser. Literally nobody cares, especially if you aren't yet famous.
you suck, this image is out of date and I'm close to having made $2200 this year (christmas times are busy and awesome)
keep in mind I have a non artistic full time job and this is just extra/side money.
but note that aside from making good art this is largely due to being good at marketing myself, and I don't mean whoring myself (none of that constantly uploading art in all social website bullshit, but simply knowing how to present myself to clients with the right portfolio and confident attitude)
