There shouldn't be any correlation between the time you have to draw something and how confident you are in presenting it. It's a picture. If you're posting it anonymously on the internet you know exactly what you're fucking getting yourself into, given the environment. These threads are worthless with the general draw thread being a thing and anyone posting here would gain more for making their own threads for their own individual scrawls.
>>2286091
No constructive criticism could ever help OP, a fag that hasn't improved in months. He better gives up on art, really

>>2286111

Slow down. Ghost exactly over the line you intend to draw. Draw from elbow or shoulder for all lines over an inch. Pull toward you for curves, push away for straight. Scott Robertson's first perspective vid has good instruction on this.
>>2286112
Eh, with practice i find i can freehand everything but the most technical of lines, for example, a couple foot-long lines that must form a consistent 32 degree angle.

I've been watching your progress on DA for a while. I like how you're finally actually thinking of the forms when drawing faces, instead of just drawing > for the nose and - - for the mouth like you used to, keep it up.
When you render the hair, you tend to make each clump look like a cylinder rather than a ribbon, and this gives it the look of some kind of creature with pointy tentacles on her head. Try to fix that.
On places that are really smooth, like her butt, just go ahead and use the airbrush. It's faster and gives a better result than the way you're doing it with tons of brush strokes with the hard round.
you've improved tons since the mikasa drawing. keep going man.
>>2287670
Tanks a lot, gonna try and fix the hair, as for butt i'd love to leave some visible strokes, maybe i should make them more accurately outlining the shape.
As for me this face horrifies me, I could really use some advice about the lips.
>>2287677
sorry it's poni, but I like this tutorial for rendering hair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CMnAzg_i5k
I remember proko had a good tutorial on lips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq3aHSuKRyg
And so did Marc Brunet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6MFRk2FiHg
For this semi-realistic style you're doing, just draw a real mouth but smaller. I think you may have made it a little too super tiny here.
You can do soft rendering with a hard edged brush if you lower the flow super low. Also, texture helps make it softer. Amount of texture and the exact percentage of flow will determine how many brush marks get left.
And you should join us in the UL skype chat. People can look at your wips and give you advice. It's definitely helped me a lot of times.

Sorry but that kind of critique is way too vague.
>>2287767
Hey, have you taken a life drawing class, or any college level drawing class? I'm asking because it seems like you don't know how to quick sketch and do loose gestures and construction. If you haven't taken a class like that I think you should, you would really benefit from being directly shown how to build up a drawing. You still keep having alignment and structural issues, and I'm pretty sure you getting that kind of instruction is the only way to fix it.

Sorry for sounding like an ungrateful prick but your comment isn't that helpful too, if you know what's wrong and you want to help me why not just say it?.

>>2287849
Looks like you are doing a bad job of ripping off that one Jaime painting. You're taking a few superficial things from it without understanding why, then trying to shoehorn in another image of a dragon and stuff. Go back to the thumbnail stage and put all other images out of your mind.

Fix them now. And work on those timid lines. Colors look flat too, but the whole drawing as a whole is also flat. Also that tail, if that IS what it's supposed to be. I would look at a reference, even when drawing mythical beings.
I hope you guys don't mind this degeneracy, first time poster on this board.
>>2287885
So more color and fix proportions?
or is there something wrong in the way is drawn?

>>2287852
The thumbnail looks like a penis. That's merely an observation, not a criticism.
>>2287827
I don't mind it.
>>2286959
Hmm, what's your approach to drawing hands? Did you sketch any of this with pencil first?
>>2287846
Because you have an underlying lack of understanding that creates the same problems in every drawing you do. I could redline all your drawings, I've seen people give you redlines, and then when you "correct" it you still don't actually fix it, because you don't have the understanding to see what's wrong. So rather than attempt to keep fixing the surface problem that rises from your lack of understanding, I'm trying to let you know where the root of the problem is and how to learn what you need to learn so that you'll be able to correct things yourself before they get so far off and you've nearly finalized the picture. Your goal should be to deeper your understanding so you can see what's wrong, not to just have someone give you the answer. If you really care about getting better like you said, why would you even suggest that??

It's like you just insist on missing the point, not everything I've posted here needs a redline and not everything that has been redlined needs to be corrected, also most of the time people spouting fundamentals and sticky are just not helpful not only in my case but also in others. I'm not asking to be handed the answers but it's obvious when something is flawed or the person didn't even try.
But go ahead keep thinking like that, I will keep drawing.

Saw some halo 5 concept work and wanted to do something kinda similar
>>2288021
Really, it's you missing the point. It's not about whether all your drawings need a redline, that WAS my point, all the redlines and corrections in the world won't help you because you don't know how to construct a picture. All you need is to learn how to do that and you'd be set, that's why people keep telling you to learn your fundamentals. You keep trying to build things on a shoddy foundation, and whenever someone tells you to break it down and lay the foundation correctly, you say "wait, what if I just add this glitter over here?" like that'll keep the house from collapsing. So YOU keep thinking this is all just some personal attack and never learn the true reason why your work is flawed, because it's only your work that suffers.

what exactly do you mean by 'better'? if you want to get your proportions/anatomy on whatever you're focusing on more correct, you'll probably need to spend more than 5 minutes per sketch.
getting faster at sketching is just something that comes with practice.
alternatively, you could add more detail and concentrate on making each line 'count' a little bit more, so you get less of that chicken-scratch effect, which is you what you /might/ be referring to.

Study forms and shapes first while at the same time perspective. Once you have basic forms down study gesture and begin building forms on top of one another while holding onto that gesture.

Do two minute gesture drawings to help you better understand how the body is fluid and how it moves and behaves. If you don't know what gesture is see examples from other artists (there is no right way of doing it as long as you get the action)

haha what a dick
horns are wonky, I know
What's the best way to go about getting something to look symmetrical/identical, like the horns in this case?
>>2292770
accuracy, measurement and construction
that said asymmetry is better than symmetry
>>2292791
Rad. Gonna do cleanup or tighter rendering?
>>2292791
thanks!
forgot to save the .psd file...
Please understand
>>2292794
get a mirror and draw yourself. study the skull. practice loomis heads, and leave any kind of style for now. also use symmetry lines and stick to them.
girl on the right of the left page, her forehead doesn't make sense. hair goes ontop of a skull. just draw the hairline for a while and ignore hair

fine enough
Danks for noticing me
>>2292792
Since I had deleted the psd.-file I started again, this time being careful about perspective and construction (thanks Scott Robertson!)

>>2293017
His left arm is super short and you hid everything else so what kind of critique do you expect
>>2292425
fuck that other guy, it's looking good so far man.
don't just throw in value before you've figured out the rest of the composition, Push and pull out the dark and light as the composition dictates, if i were you I'd work on filling in the page.
