>610 watchers

Six hundred and ten people saw this and thought "I could do with more of that."

I used to think that having a lot of watchers could at least be a metric for whether your stuff is visually appealing - if not technically sound. But this shit isn't either of those things.

>Now I will tell you what I think about your work.
I think it is a very high-calibre portfolio Kody. You have fantastic determination and have found a marketable style; 2 of the most important aspects of being an artist.
Alot of the people here are just forwarding their own artistic frustrations on you. They are jealous of your determination and style. They are mad that they didn't think of it first. Even Picasso had to rise above similar negativity. Don't listen to them and keep doing what you love.

I think you should try and implement these characters into feature film length animations to really show people what you can do. You should create a showreel and pitch them to companies you'd like to work for.
Keep believing in yourself Kody and focus on the positivity people send your way. Would love to see where you are in afew years time. I bet you could work for Pixar or Adventure time if you wanted.

picrelated made me mad

I remember back in 2007 when i was new to DA i was accepting everybody and tried to be friendly and comment their work even if i knew their work is shit and autistic.

I was writing stuff like "Oh its your new character? Nice!" and thought im done with them.
But no. Then i would receive some weird ass answers like "Nice...what?" or "What exactly you like in it? Tell me."

and this worked like some kind of troll-bait. I i would continue with explaining what exactly i like - they would go with "What do you mean design??" or be even legit offended so it would go further and make those retards upset even the whole conversation started with compliment.

Some of them would even send me PM with "care to explain???" title or some shit.

Later after a year i got tired of this shit and finally snapped. This how i made few autistic haters during my first two years of drawing...

Well you have to think, there are people on deviant art that do strive to improve and are held back by the hug box.
>vague thing is good!
Isn't helpful, they want to know what exactly was good and what was bad. They'd love a critique or a good review so they have something to work on.
Some people are genuinely just looking for the right thing in the wrong place at the wrong time in their 'career'

610 watchers is notthing in dA. I have a couple thousand and while my account has been there for 10 years, I only post full pieces every couple months and do absolutely zero networking.

If you're actually involved and draw fan art you're looking at tens of thousands of people and these autists actually have money to spare on commissions unlike tumblrites.
>>
>>2261126
It's very easy to use, doesn't have size restraints as harsh as tumblr and isn't social media-based unlike tumblr, twitter, pinterest and instagram.

You can sit there looking longingly at your own gallery doing your thing and like-minded people will reach you by themselves. It's comfy and safe, literally the best people for the kind of kid that turns to drawing because other kids don't like them and they spend a lot of time alone.
>>
>>2262786
>Isn't helpful, they want to know what exactly was good and what was bad
Usually those who make fake compliments to these artist are a passive-aggressive form of saying "Your art is cancerous shit". It's an easy giveaway by simply looking at the commenters artworks and favorite artworks to know who you're dealing with, which sometimes doesn't work. Unfortunately for these artists with autism or just plain naive/sheltered cannot understand the difference between sarcasm and compliments.
>Some people are genuinely just looking for the right thing in the wrong place
It's the artist's responsibility to realize this themselves, or a close friend or family member who favors uber-tier art to remind them of their shittyness.

>>
>>2280875
Autists can be amazing at what they do precisely because their disability allows them to focus 100% on the task they're into, this is the same trait attributed to "geniuses".
However, on the flip side, drawing is often given to retards as a way to get them out of people's hair. This isn't something they really care about its just a time killer. Its the same way people can play video games for months and still suck while others are pro within a few days. Its a matter of what you actually care about, and the autists who are bad aren't doing art because they enjoy it or their minds focuses on it, its the ones who do it because their parents just give them some crayons and tell them to draw while they watch football.
>>
>>2280670
This is going too far.

He's probably inspired by you. What's your DA page?
>>
>>2260702

- probably has aspbergers, autism or some other mental health issue along those lines
- lives with his parents who understand that their kid has no future to speak of, but they put up with him anyway because he's their child
- is a furry, probably has no IRL friends
- only has 600 watchers on dA, of which probably more than 500 are just there to laugh at him once a day. Probably far less than 100 are real fans and probably not a single one of them could ever be converted into a paying customer/patron
- unlike other celebrated autism-spectrum prodigies and whatnot has no apparent talent or interest in anything that society will ever accept as valuable or marketable
- people online laugh at him and deride him

You're right, OP, life is pretty unfair for this guy.

Autist art never looks even remotely good though. This is because autists have no soul and in order to produce pleasing, moving artwork you need to be a human being.

example, where the artist is so naive and unaware that their art is cringe because they either don't have the time to look up how to draw properly or they don't have any connections with people who know the difference between cringe and good art. Lack of proper connection with honest people or good rolemodels is what causes these autists to be like this.
>>
>>2281415
I know, I remember when disturbing horror art was considered cringe and creepy. Now it seems like art like in OP's pic is considered the new creepy.
