Do you think Art as a possible profession is just a fad right now?
Fuck thats beautiful. Saved
art has never been a more available profession in history. It's not a fad. You don't know what a fad is.
yes its a fad
in 2 or 3 years there'll be no art
people will move onto something else
sports maybe
Am I justified in thinking that you're an idiot

Sports is the greatest meme of this century
Popular demand will bring back fights to the death
If OP is serious, this is a strong contender for the most idiotic /ic/ thread of the year.

kek'd
Honestly science is a bigger fad. Next year people will go back to only being farmers and merchants. Maybe a blacksmith or two.

I think the bottom fell out on the market and all the graphic design and illustration jobs dried up. It was very easy to get into for a while but the shit economy and initial glut of graduates killed moat open positions. Most just haven't been made aware of that little fact yet because someone is always spreading old info.

Are you stupid? There are more illustration jobs than ever before in history.
>>2243829
There were. Now there are less. Its still better than it has been but it was even better less than a decade ago.

There probably are more illustration jobs than ever before. Just think how many books and ebooks get published each year, how many editorial things for magazines are needed, how many tcg there are, mobile games etc. There are so many more markets within illustration than in the past and there are tons more people now so there is higher demand. That being said, there are also more artists struggling to make it in the field so it is probably tougher to get jobs than in the past even if there are more jobs in an absolute number.

Go out and talk to other illustrators who have been at it for at least the past 8 years. Shit was cake, especially in graphic design and related fields, before that global economic depression,. Then you had the one-two punch of recent graduates filling those positions and the market shrinking overall.
There are more jobs, but the number of open positions is smaller than it was. It's a market that has become very difficult to get into for having so many jobs because none of them are open.
