Critics are shit. Even if you didn't like the film, the movie doesn't deserve the RT score it has. The cinematography, score, and costume/production design were all incredible. The story and character arcs were also a lot more meaningful and carried a lot more emotional gravitas than usual generic comic book movies. I get that the strong comic book elements may be off putting to someone with no understanding or knowledge of the universe but as a fan I was more than satisfied.

I don't want to derail this thread anymore than it already is, but holy fuck you're delusional (and condescending) if you think the reason Batman vs. Superman is bombing is because people don't know enough about comics. I'm familiar with the DC universe and found the movie to be a major disappointment.
The plot is convoluted and drags on for way too long, and the setup for the big fight is something that came up in five minutes instead of being built up over the whole movie like it should have been. I was excited at the beginning's premise, where we saw that Superman's actions had unintended consequences, but they dropped that completely to focus on Luthor and Wonder Woman. Yawn. I'll grant that the Batmobile and Batcave looked great, but it's not enough for a movie too look good. It's the same problem with Watchmen actually, Zach Snyder just doesn't seem to get it when it comes to capeshit movies.

And it's nowhere as bad as some butthurt "fans" are making it to be. It's coherent, it's properly filmed, it is structured well (follows a structure that reminds of comic books too), good performance throughout and it is arguably Snyder's best film.
Bases down to preference and while I was skeptical at first, I really enjoyed the film and the set up it creates for future films.

Both are good, but will all films of Snyder I felt like the characters were cutouts from their surroundings. Watchmen is a great film, but the characters seemed to float. BvS seemed to have more connection between characters and surrounding.

I love DC but personally I'm mixed about BvS. I've only seen it once but I'm interested in seeing it again, after already having my first impressions.
Interestingly, the most fun I had in the movie was the references to the extra sweaty nerd things like Darkseid and Flashpoint and Injustice. That Motherbox, the Parademons, etc.
Still though, I wish maybe there were at least a Transformers-esque reveal of the Martian Manhunter via Martian rover footage or something. Or possibly space footage of Green Lantern?

I like that people defending the movie keep talking of all the cool elements and parts but are dismissing the fact that, as a whole, Batman v Superman is a clunky mess.
Also, colorful and humor aren't opposite to realistic and emotional.

I didn't think the movie was that dark. Certainly wasn't depressing,. Plenty of scenes were colorful, Superman's outfit was bright blue even during night scenes.
