>>2609137
It's like you don't want to be the fastest person in the world...
You don't have the right stuff to get in the rocket, it's ok.

It's overly detailed and it tiny.

Isn't the details that which makes them interesting?
Yes. But wouldn't not be more enjoyable to be able to see the details.

Too bad this is drawn as a climb. The zero G only occurs during a dive. Bad research.
>>2598095
Wonderful! Do you have the rest of the ship?
Europa

I listened to some stories from one of the pilots of those things. I swear, they factored in the weight of their testicles into the weight/CG figures.
>liquid Nitrogen-cooled nose gear
>sealant around the windows would melt and cloud the glass
>instrumentation/pitot tubes would melt off during flight
>vertical stab was flat because the trailing edge kept melting, so they just said 'fuck it'
>RCS installed cause no control authority at 50+ miles in altitude
>cockpit was pressurized with N2
Wew, the risk assessment must have been a textbook
>>2614947
I agree. Unless - by chance - this is a cross section of Homer Simpson...

This is a Luftschiff. It schiffs Luft.
>>2597796
Remember going on that back in 2012 for it's maiden voyage. Great fun, but really, REALLY overcrowded. You'd have to wait for 30 minutes sometimes just so you could get in an elevator.
>>2622782
Of course they had to account for the pilot's balls, they had to be freaking enormous to do this.
>>2631137
Is this Ed Gein?
>>2595795

Has it exploded
Here's a cutaway of something. I don't know what it is.

Reducing climb rate? I may be wrong
>>2666509
I believe you're right, the sensation of zero g happens due to the deceleration of the rate of climb, not the rate of climb itself. So when following a parabolic curve, the effect is most pronounced when the plane levels off at the top of the curve, not in the subsequent dive as tv presenters always assume.
>>2665354
That thing was never meant to go to space, it's basically a self-propelled test vehicle. From Wikipedia:
"The OK-GLI (Buran Analog BST-02) test vehicle ("Buran aerodynamic analogue") was constructed in 1984. It was fitted with four AL-31 jet engines mounted at the rear (the fuel tank for the engines occupied a quarter of the cargo bay). This Buran could take off under its own power for flight tests, in contrast to the American Enterprise test vehicle, which was entirely unpowered and relied on an air launch."
Seeing as this is one of the few non celeb threads, thought I'd post these here. They are also kinda related.
