Funny enough the one single time in his life Socrates actually takes a stance on something is when he tries to get himself killed.
After his trial his friends come and say they can bribe the guards to let him out. Socrates drops the shit posting rhetoric and says that he has no right to disobey the law since he was raise under the law. His friends comment that he seems completly accepting of his upcoming death and he gives a speech about how death is the ultimate liberation.
Nietzche had an analysis where he concluded Socrates was just pissed at the world. He rejected everything except for death because it's what he really wanted all along.
Socrates in a way was passion zero for the fuck ups of in Western history since his entire "philosophy" consisted of getting people to reject everything and leaving death as the only meaningful event.
