The true, Latin-speaking, culturally Roman empire fell in 467.
The East then changed a lot during history and is therefore now known as the Byzantine empire, that one fell in 1453.
The HRE, Russian empire, Ottoman empire, Frankish empire are all fake knock-offs that have no connection to the original Roman empire beside some vague connections like owning the city of Rome (HRE And Franks) or some stupid connection through family ties (Romanovs).
The Byzantine empire could be considered as Roman as the original Roman empire except that it wasn't Roman anymore at the end, it was Greek. Compare "augustus" or "Aurelius" with "Komnemnos" or "Palaiologos". It's Greek. They're main language was Greek not Latin ffs.
